Have any of you taken a board game, a classic or not, and tweaked it around a bit, or completely changed around how it is played?

I'm just curious what types of ideas you guys have come up with, and with which games.

For me, right now... i'm taking the Avalon Hill game Feudal, and am reworking it nearly completely, to craft it into a sort of real time strategy game, with each unit having a specific, key purpose in the game, and a special ability as well. Also changing around some of the unit names as well. Adding new elements to the game, and completely reworking how things are played, keeping strategy intact as well as letting a slight bit of randomness to the mix, like in risk, by incorporating dice.

So... anybody else tried doing something like this? Not my idea, but twisting around other board games into something you find might be more enjoyable/different/or interesting.

Yes, ex) Chess

You set them up and throw stones to knock them out from 50cms away.

I once used some Jenga blocks to build a tower.

Edit: it was more of a Stone Henge type thing.

We've all done that :-P

What I've done with Jenga blocks, is try to make different designs out of them, to see just how hard/easy they are with their structural integrity to play like a normal game of jenga blocks.
