.: A new Promotional video for Revolters 1.2 - Double pack is available!:.

After 3 evenings of filming and organisation, over 4 gigs of raw video remixed and put all together doubled by a cool soundtrack, here it is... the "Revolters" Promo Video.

It's a nice showcase of Revolters 1.2 A and B as well as a nice showoff performance by the people cought playing the map.

Tons of nice moves, a truck load of bullets and blood splatters... and a couple of cool tricks for those still wondering how to play this map!

More than 6 minutes of pure action!

Take a download of it... and check out the credits too... you won't regret!!!!! :)

Enjoy!

so its about people killing each other, on your maps?, im downloading atm, so i cant really check it out just yet

It's not JUST about killing each other, Revolters is a map with objectives. So the main part is cooperation with your teammates, then a lot of killing! :)

Halflife2.net should be posting the news soon or later...

Haven't had your comments on the vid... what'd you guys think?

People who participated in the video: d'you guys like the result? Remember some of the moves you made? hehe

I made one scene... who here knows which one it is?

MQ

Scenes were organised simply... not scripted. That means people were told to "have a nice street fight" or "combines rush into the rebel base" for instance, but they weren't directed to "die at this very moment" or "kill that guy, then this one..."

We just had to stay organised so me, the cameraman, could be at the right place at the right moment for better results.

:)

They werent scripted, i remeber that game being totally real :p

Downloading now, gj getting the material into a movie this quick.

Now that steam is back, I'll be surfing the different dedicated Revolters servers and mimic the nice actions found in this movie... except for the nutcracker one hopefuly.

I played some on the first night of filming. The team I was on always won. :)

moonquake, sorry i couldnt be around for more filming. i had to go home for the weekend. im downloading now, ill let you know what i think.

Yea, my tag in the game was IAMWIN, and I was there for a little while, dunno if it made it in the vid tho.

im pretty sure that was me who tossed the car into the combine street. i recognized a few other scenes i was in. very cool mq, it got me in the mood to play. im about to go join now.

Look ma! Im on TV!
Sweet, in the scene that shows the guys blocking up the inside of the house with objects, I was the guy with the chair. Thats a pretty wasome video, I love the way the scenes go into a slow-mo for extra effect. Great job Moon Quake

Nice work :) Great map btw :D
Did yah enter the VALVe contest?

i remember i played on some server that was filming, i took a razor blade and killed everyone who was standing there talking about filming. it pissed a lot of people off

I remember big fat, but we weren't filming yet! :)

Yombi: didn't submit to Valve contest, cuz if you win, you lose the rights on your map. A no-no for me.

Oh, didn't know that (couldn't be bothered entering anyway :p). Well hope to see more kickass maps from yah! :)

Nice movie MQ!! And thank you very much for your nice credits note :)

Sorry I have missed your recent tests and video shoot. I have been swamped with work. Hopefully I will cya online again when I get a chance.

Keep up the good work... btw, has VALVe contacted you yet? ;)

Yer, but you also win 5 GRAND!! Enough to buy you a wicked new pc, and giving you the ability to make a new map :p

BTW, checked out your vid!... BLoody awesome!! Definately put me in the mood to DM some peeps!! :D

Acert: still waiting for an email from Valve! ;) With Battlefield 1942, the trick worked at EA! So, we never know.

Shim: Already got a new PC. In the making of this map, my mobo died, so it was "upgrade time"! :) Didn't spent 5 grand, but still half a grand was invested so I could finish Revolters. I definately need this money, that's one true thing. :)

I'll make money later, for now I HAD to do something with HL2, and by checking how mods are made, I could come up with a cool mod in a couple days.

Damn, gotta stop working for free and find something more lucrative. Life costs something after all! :)

Is it me, or are filefront one of the worst to download from? You have to go through about 4 or 5 links before you get to the download itself. Annoying as f.

If only I could find servers without much lag and a bunch of decent players :(. Brill map and video by the way MoonQuake, good luck on any future maps.

I loved the video, im the combine elite in most scenes...the double barrel kill on me and someone else was quite funny at the time...Moonquake told me i couldnt aim for the rebels otherwise i'd never let that happen

I honestly believe for such a good map it doesnt get enough players or servers attention. I think moon is aware of this too, and tis a shame cos its a great game to play. Hopefully it will catch on in a few weeks a bit more.

I will investigate further after seeing the video - that's a good selling tool, it certainly made me more interested, when I eventually got it after 50 filefront links :)

Grrreat video!!
I´ve been playing this map some quite a while now, and its certainly one of my favorites :)
Keep up the good work!

ah ha! A possible timeline of team fortress's future is expressed!

Good work MoonQuake, please check your PM for a cookie.

TFC rocks! :)

I love it! That's why I made maps with objectives!

Just gotta download/install divx codecs... you'll need them soon or later anyways as divx is damn polular.

Tried for a game last night and found no servers hosting these maps. So had a look around on my own, i can imagine it's great with lots of people playing it.

Is best way just to search the servers? of do you have addresses of a server hosting these maps

We just plugged in the .12a map.

Now running 24/7 on .id|hl2mp at 265.19.161.7:27035

It uses the steam engine to URL redirect, autodownload and self install the map. I'm working on reducing the download time of 10 min at present. I recommend this much easier and faster avenue. However, if you are familiar with downloading zip files, extracting and then manually self-installing each individual map file component where they belong, we are also hosting the zip download on our maps downloads page. seriously, i search in vain for servers that have a decent amount of players on them, but no luck! for such an awesome map, im amazed it isnt in huge circulation. MQ needs to get some advertisments or something...

Yea seriously everyone if you have a server, this is guaranteed to be a popular map.

MQ I suggest going over and putting it in H L 2 World.com (all put together as HL2.net isn't very kind to them) as they recognize good maps and most of them over there own/host servers and will gladly put some up if they like it :)

To find Revolters servers, filter your server listing with the word "obj" in the MAP field.

There are few servers running custom maps, simply.

Admins are affraid to run custom maps that aren't made/proposed by Valve. If they want the good of the players (those people populating the servers!!) they need to run maps players want! :)

Also, I just can't do more than what I do right now as for advertising the map! MADE the map and a video for it, now it's the time for admins to help! And players also! Spreading the word like crazy, replying to message boards/news messages often...stuff like that.

The more we play OBJ maps, the more there will be!

Thanks to good folks like Ripm2shreds.id, good maps become more popular faster!
