Rick Wright dies at age 65

It's really sad. It must have been a great ride for him. Not many people get to say 'I was in one of the biggest bands in ****ing history.'

Imagine if Cancer killed him before Pink Floyd. Do you think they would have still formed a group? It's quite possible that Pink Floyd would never have come to be.

Besides, he wrote Us and Them. That song rules.

I never get tired of some of those Floyd songs.

Damn :( He was my favorite keyboardist of all time. He shall be missed.

Maybe if the rest of the band played live ever again his son could play drums? Led Zeppelin did it at the Ahmet Ertegun tribute, and they sounded great.

Grrrrrrrr.

Keyboardist/Pianist NOT drummer... Nick Manson was the drummer.

Anyways, such a shame. Farewell, I never met you but I knew you well.

How dare you mix up his stage position.

And yes, such a terrible loss and he wasnt really that old either, not for these days. Legendary pianist.

He's up there with Syd now, playing the Great Gig in the Sky.

"And I am not frightened of dying, any time will do I don't mind. Why should I be frightened of dying, there's no reason for it you've got to go some time."

Pink Floyd would still have been formed by Syd Barrett, although it might've looked different.

RIP :(

I am really really really upset about this.

My brothers had their albums so I had been listening to Pink Floyd for about 23 years.

I never knew this guys name, or really knew anything about him, but this is music that I have grown up listening to and I am just really, really saddened. ;(

This is really shitty for me. I started playing the keyboard because of him, and the best moment of my life so far had his music playing in the background.

Even sadder thing is that he wasn't even plugged in for most of the live gigs he played with Floyd :(

Although, he will be missed, his studio work was lovely

Plugged in?

life support? WHAT

acoustic instruments?

pre-recorded with him pretending to play???

I heard that on the radio this morning, apparently at some live gigs he would get jittery so they'd play the album cut and then just leave him standing up there mock-playing without actually being plugged in.

Hm. Can't say I blame him, I get nervous and jittery when on stage even for a few people. I don't see how those guys do it TBH.
