Ridiculously low FPS

Greetings...

I get very very low FPS on my new Comp, and I don't know why. My specs are:

Dual 2.8GHz processor,
1G Ram,
128 Mb Integrated Graphics card.

I think it has to do with something that is not properly configured, because it runs other games quite smoothly.

Sorry, forgot to mention it... I get around 15 fps, and that is not even constant. Sometimes it lowers down to 9 fps.

How can you tell? I mean, don't gaming laptops use integrated cards? And those aren't bad? I mean, 128mb is not bad at all, it's basically pretty average, and since that's the only specific you know, I wouldn't go saying his card sucks right away.

To threadstarter, it would help if you told us what settings you are running the game at.

integrated cards use the actual RAM that's why they are crap and no not all laptops have an integrated card - I for example have a 9700 mobility which is a standalone piece of hardware in the machine

Nah, gaming laptops have graphics cards that are near on par with with their desktop counterpart nowadays. There's also more to judge than the ram it carries, how much it clocks helps determine whether all that texture memory is put to use.

I don't think he has a laptop, since I'm unaware of any laptops that feature dual processors... well I'm sure they exist but they're likely rare and expensive. They would be more in line as a desktop replacement than an actual laptop anyway.

And to the thread guy, that integrated graphics card is pulling your entire system down. You'd best ask from whomever you bought it from about the possibilities of adding in a graphics card depending what your mobo supports (AGP, PCI, PCI-e).
