I'd take any claims made with a grain of salt.

lol

this sucks however I have faith someone will pick up the rights

Noooooo
staaaalllkeerr

Oh well, A4 is better now anyway.

I still haven't even played Clear Sky or Call of Pripyat.

Implying he was ever 'alive' are we, Nietzsche?

as for Eastern European aspie games: lol, owned

Man I've tried playing STALKER so many times but, just... you know? Ehhhh.

Still, sad news.

Well then you're just a couple of ******s.

Well I installed STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl yesterday as well as the Complete 2009 mod so I can get an as close to vanilla experience only with the major bugs that remained in 1.0.0.5 fixed.

I hope that makes me less of a ****.

I don't know about Call of Pripyat, but Clear Sky is TERRIBLE. Buggy as all hell, just completely unplayable. It's not like the first one where is was managable even with the bugs, this one is just insane. It sucks. Which really sucks because if the bugs were taken care of I can see it being a very good game.

Apparently, I eat bugs, as I found CS playable on release day.

Much of the problems with STALKER stem from its sensitivity. Y'know, it loads everything up, notices a single sound effect for a stalker's sneeze missing and goes OMGWTFNO and instantly dies of a digital heart attack. At least the post-mortem report (bug log) has the courtesy of singling out the cause of death, which is more than I can say for 95% of games on the market.

I didn't really enjoy CS not because of the bugs, but because of the faction bullshit; SoC and CoP both made you feel sufficiently alone, which is what I want from this kind of game.

Honestly, I really enjoyed Shadow of Chernobyl, disliked Clear Sky, and LOVED Call of Pripyat. In my opinion the last one is the definitive STALKER game in every aspect except for the story (first ones story, while nothing groundbreaking, was enough motivation to keep me going whereas the only reason I got to the end of CoPs story was to access the newer areas). Those of you who liked SoC should really pick up CoP.

Anyways, this seriously sucks.

That word isn't what you think it is.
The singular would actually be "******."

I still think soc is superior to cop cuz in cop the levels are a bit restricted,in soc you can enter inside abandoned places and explore them better than in cop,but interface and things like that are aeons better in cop

Shadow of Chernobly because of its story and atmosphere.

I definitely think that SoC had the upper hand in both of those departments, but CoP had quite a few new gameplay features that made it more fun to play in my opinion.

STALKER's in my top 5 for single player FPS games. haven't played another that has given me quite the same feeling of gloom and desolation

7:18 PM - Corgi "Santa" Paws :3: HHHHHE
Apparently this shit is actually in one of the STALKER novels along with a timeline. Holy shit I would like to see this in 2 maybe possibly, even though I love the Chernobyl Zone.

The first English book based on the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. universe.

If in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. – Shadow of Chernobyl Gothic met Far Cry,
in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. – Southern Comfort Apocalypse Now meets 9th Company.

In 2006, a secret experiment is conducted in the the ill-fated nuclear power plant of Chernobyl. It fails, and the Zone is created: a large area where physical laws are outright broken and mysterious phenomena manifest.

In 2011, Al Qaeda detonates nuclear warheads in Kabul. In what was once the Afghan wilderness, apparently a New Zone is created.

Three years later a scientific expedition tries to find out if the creation of the New Zone could be connected to the Chernobyl experiment. When the researchers disappear, a search and rescue operation is launched.

For Major Mikhailo Tarasov, a veteran of the Exclusion Zone, this mission into post-apocalyptic Afghanistan is more than just another dangerous task: in the land where his father died, he must also confront the ghosts of the Soviet past.

Major Tarasov and his Spetsnaz commandos soon find themselves at the mercy of a hostile environment worse than anything they had encountered before. But beyond all the perils of the New Zone, the most lethal danger awaits: betrayal.

"Whatever power had created the Zone, it has outsmarted us and it has happened again. You will look at the New Zone with fresh eyes... like Strelok did here when everything began."
Major Alexander Degtyarev, 2014
