I don't think this really belongs in the tv section, since its not so much about the tv show, as the amazing, weird, crazy things that people do on the show, and perhaps things that never even make it on the show.

I was watching it today, and they were talking of a carrier deck crewman who was sucked into the jet engine of a fighter jet, and miraculously survived, without too much bodily injury. There was even a military video footage of it, and its scary to watch as the guy walks up near the plane, and his whole body like a ragdoll just sort of folds up and gets sucked into the jet intake. Apparently he could not breathe while in there and luckily another crewman managed to shut off the jet's engines and they got the guy out.

Quite a survival story, when compared to all the horrific stories I have been reading about when doing a search engine search on the subject, talking about people getting sucked into jet airliner turbine engines. ICK! I mean, I can understand how you could survive getting sucked into a fighter jet engine intake, because there's no blades or anything, but a jet turbine engine? Seeing something like that would cause nightmares for me forever.

that story kind of reminds me of how in 1 of the indianna jones movies, that guy gets chopped by the helicopter.

good movie :)

I once saw this girl on there that had half of her brain removed. And some woman named Madima whose nose had rotted off. Disturbing.

I think I saw that brain one. Also, have you seen the one where the guy has no face? It's freaky to look at... be because he literally has NO FACE. It looks like half his head is missing when looked at from the side. And how they created him a fake snap on style face so he'd look more normal. It doesn't look normal to everyone else, but it makes him feel more normal and prevents people from staring.

Crazy stuff happens in the world, before some of the episodes i've watched of Ripley's, i'd of never known a person could survive with half a brain, or no face(the face thing kind of reminds me of that little girl, but thats completely different ;( )

is that really possible? i mean for a man to go through and jet engine.........it should have hurt lol

He had like a broken arm(I think), and some cuts, but not much more. The video shows it all. I've been searching for it online, but haven't been able to find it. Maybe somebody with a stronger google(hahahahahaha) search talent can find it. Navy carrier deck crewman who gets sucked into an f-14(I think thats the plane) jet engine and survives. Please try to find the right video, no actual death videos of other similiar accidents.

lol there must be one reason why he survived! he drank alot of milk lol =P

lol that clip has been on the internet for years...pretty amazing actually..

OMG...! It should be elligal to be so lucky :O

I mean... how can you survive such a thing?

yeah ive seen ripley's beleive it or not. and some of those stories seem SO far fetched!

i really question if some of them are real!

There are blades in a fighter jet engine, but they are right inside. What happened was the guy got sucked in by the engine and his jacket got caught on the side of it, luckily. There was another story about a guy who was in a sky diving accident, a friend of his hit him full force at an airshow, slicing off both his legs with the other guys body.

saw this, the dude got stuck with his belt on the inside of the engine.
This kept him from being ripped into pieces.

I saw on thingy where a litle girl got shot by a shotgun and half her face was gone, but they still managed to save her

I saw that story months ago, the video of the story has perfect ragdoll.

Boy, I love Source

Have you guys seen the one where that girl continued to eat her own hair for years? Then later they removed a brick of hair that was trapped in her stomach lol.

It's not a sick program. It's actually very professional, heh.

And I can easily believe the hair thing. I mean, hair does HELL to a sink, easily clogging it up even with the little hairs of your stubble you shave off... eating long strands of hair from your head? LOL, that'd be crazy and I can imigine it getting easily stuck inside your body like that. Hell, its hard enough to get off your hands as it is, lol

Indiana Jones = Great movie.

OT - Yeah, I saw the guy get sucked into the jet engine, it shocked me. Amazing that he survived though.

I see that video too

it was shocking cuz....well just imagine be sucked by a pipe that hav blades inside and combustible exploting and fire to the exit hole

he was very lucky to survive
