The chinese will build a road over mount everest. It won reach the top but to be able to go by car to 5.2 km high is not bad.

Personally i don't like it that much. This is more of a showoff project than actually a practical thing. It will definitely demystify the mountain. I guess there are some ecological issues too.

i can't say for sure, but destroying the natural environment is one. the huge amounts of trash the tourists will leave. and i hope they wont be building a coal power plant up there.

It would be my luck that my car would break down at the very top. Anyway yeah as some other members have said you would think that the Chinese's gov. would have better things to do than build a road on a huge ass mountain and possibly destroy the thing!
