Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures (MGM) has signed Darren Aronofsky to direct and David Self to write a new installment for its "RoboCop" franchise. Aronofsky, the director of The Fountain, and Self, the writer of Road to Perdition, make a formidable creative team, fast tracking the RoboCop motion picture and spotlighting it as one of the most anticipated new films for 2010.

ok its enough whit the rapping of the classics

this proves that hollywood is desperate

who joins me whit a lot of firearms to go robocop style at hollywood?

I remember watching Robocop when I was like four and saying f*ck at my mom. Needless to say, I didn't get to watch Robocop for a loooong time.

Well shit Im interested in seeing what Aronofsky will do with it. I loved the fountain.

I can't see him directing... Robocop, though.

It could be good with Aronofsky directing. Lets see how The Wrestler turns out first though.

Don't know who this Aronofsky is because I don't pay attention to those "behind the scenes" people, but I looove Robocop and I want more. Let's do it. More ed-209 and Kane.

I seen the first one a few times.

BOI GITZ FUKED UP!

The guy clearly had it coming, and he deserved to be slaughtered at gun point, after all RED beat him (almost).

it will be PG13 and robocop goes to iraq to catch osama bin laden

lol. I actually don't doubt this could happen.

At least the Robocop being deployed for peacekeeping in some muslim country anyways.

Aronofsky is a pretty damn good director, and the guy writing the script is also pretty good too based on how Road to Perdition turned out. I don't see how this is all that bad?

Well seeing as how the Robocop franchise was already ****ed after they made such a shit second movie, then why is anybody bothered about anyone screwing around with another movie in the series, it can't be any worse than Robocop 3 or the shitty tv series, it may actually revitalise the franchise.

Yeah, I don't see the bad angle to this. Robocop as a franchise has been in the grave for a long time, Aronofsky has directed some classic movies, and Self has proven himself as a writer.

There probably going to go with the ghost in the shell angle. He will be move human looking then robot looking. I think Ghost in the Shell was suppose to come out the same year.

As great as the first one is I don't think you could accuse the franchise as a whole of having much integrity... he can hardly **** up worse than some of his predecessors.

I actually waited for them to announce a new Robocop, seeing as everything is remade nowadays. And they have nothing to **** up, only the first movie was good, I would like to see another good Robocop movie.
