its true! for cencorship reasons, when HL was origonally released in germany, the guards were replaced with robots (the same ones that are playable in HLDM).

but the only thing you need to do to get these robot models (i just figured out), is to change your language to german!!! Just change the language in steam "settings". Youll have to download an update to your HL files, but these can be gotten rid of when you go back to english (or whatever language you speak).

so go ahead and try it! robots ahoy!

I tried it out just now to see if it's true and it is. The marines are green robots. When you try to shoot a scientist they sit down and shake their head. If you try to blow up a scientist you just fade away. I got screenshots of each.

well seeing as it was all about censorship in the first place, im sure now no germans really care if they shoot HUMANS in halflife :O

there are probally loads of german mods as well that just change the english language to german, so they just play it in german with human skins.
