It's coming on May 23rd, but the pricing is a ****ing joke:

The Instrument Edition will be priced at ?129.99 or ?169 and will be a bundle with just the three instruments but not the game. The game itself will be priced at ?49.99 or ?69.99, wireless guitars are going to be ?59.99 or ?79.99, and the drum kits ?69.99 or ?89.99.

That's ?180 for the game and all the instruments, equivelant to roughly $350!! Nevermind that it doesn't all come in the same ****ing box. We wait 6 months for this crap?

Oh that is ****ing stupid. I can buy it now for about that. And that's a bloody import.

Wow. I somehow don't see Rock Band having the popularity of GH over here.

This makes not being able to use my Guitar Hero guitar for the game even more outrageous.

I guess I'll just buy another GH guitar and play with my friends on that instead.

It's EA... your instruments that you buy will last exactly one year and will no longer be supported by further releases of other games.

You guys almost sound surprised by this, Europe always gets ripped off it's always been like that.

I don't know about the 360, but it doesn't work either way on the PS3.

Buy the Nyko Front Man guitar. It works with Rock Band and Guitar Hero, and it still remains the same functionality. Plus, it is wireless. $60 for it is about the same as the regular guitars.

Don't buy it then.

YAY, LETS PRESS BUTTONS WHEN THE THING LINES UP WITH TEH COLORZ!!

Wireless as in Bluetooth or wireless as in USB dongle taking up more of my precious USB slots?

I'm not certain. I think it uses Bluetooth. You'll have to check the product info, but I do know you have an effects pedal that controls which game you are playing. You can switch it betwix Rock Band and GH3. I think it is a worthy investment for PS3 owners.

It is actually named the Nyko FrontMan.

EDIT: Here is a link to a review on IGN: http://gear.ign.com/articles/863/863447p1.html

Apparently it uses a dongle. I'll just get a 500-slot USB hub and it's fine.

Wow. . .

you'd think at some point EA would learn common economics.

make something cheaper and more ppl will buy it. make it more expensive and no one will buy it.

Contrary to what you think, Apple doesn't share your point of view. Apple's prices seem to have always been a fair amount of money, and yet, everyone and their Uncle Phil from Bel Air purchase one or more.

:D

:D

Also, just buy the damn game. It is worth the American's price for it. :D

What the hell. We've been playing Rockband for the ps3 this whole week in college. How can it not be out,
the hardware guys are anal about buying shit legally and we usually do not get stuff until it has been out
for months, hell we didn't get the Wii until like 3 months ago.

In any case, does this mean it's cheaper to buy an import version of the instruments.
Do US instruments work with EU consoles and games?

However, EA knows that the public as a whole is stupid...

People *WILL* buy it.

You guys are forgetting that it's only the 360 version that is getting released right now... It has become a short timed exclusive to the system now.

PS3 version is coming out later in the summer.

Either way you cut it, EA truly messed up Rock Band in Europe.

EA sucks donkey balls for that move.

I was really looking forward for Rock band, but now im not so sure i want to have it.. I wont buy EA games EVER again..

Actually I heard the instruments pack won't come with a microphone on release, you have to download it from Xbox Live as a micro-transaction.

Lol EA.

Anyway, atleast you guys are getting it.

While European and Australian release dates are normally in-step, for Rock Band they're not, with EA Australia only telling us "There is no announcement on Rock Band for Australia yet". Bummer. Now's as good a time as any to remind you that over Christmas I heard rumours from retailers that thanks to fears over its price the game may not be coming here at all, so between that and the inevitably astronomical price, I'd be getting intimate with the online importing scene if I were you.

Not forgetting that the PS3 version is region free. :p

yay and its only for UK, germany and France! So no Rock band for the rest of Europe! :(

These games are dumb anyways, whats the big deal?

:P

I am an American and I approve this disapproval.
