Well i dont like most goth and punk either but thats just my opinion and it doesnt mean the music itself is bad.

But saying that rock is rapping granny transvestites? You obviously havent listened to good rock. Plus with Indie rock a lot is shiz, but there is also a lot that is better than mainstream.

If you find the good songs of any genre you will probably enjoy it.

I actually haven't seen any sort of stereotyping on the forums when it comes to music. Yes, some people say they won't like certain music, but I've never seen someone call another person a murderer because they listened to Led Zeppelin. At least, not on these forums.

Then why don't you locate the "Rap Sucks" thread, you'd find plenty of stereotypes in there.
