Rocket-Man, as performed by William Shatner

Possibly the greatest man alive.
No...Deffinately the greatest man alive.

Sweaty though.

I remember watching this

And then thinking "so that's what Stewie was doing!"

The best part has to be when his third personality comes out with his stupid ass dance and says "I'm a rock-ET man".

Me too Murray  Stewie copies him almost exactly.

Probably the greatest song ever.

The interpretation or the actual song?

I would be inclined to agree with you that it's the greatest interpretation of an Elton John song by William Shatner in 1970-whatever it was

Shatner is one of the biggest washed up loser actors out there. It's kinda sad. He does these washing up powder/cereal adverts in the UK. I forget what they're about, but they're those really bad cheap adverts.

I had only heard this version on the song so far, and I just listened to the original.

I think the interpretation is much much better, it just gets the whole symbolism in a way better way...

Being a rocket man.

Haha, yeah it's kinda corny and he's not that good of a singer but I really like the lyrics and the idea of the song sung (or said?) this way.

Its a good song but the way its sung is just rediculously cheesy. Its so like William Shatner that its just bizarre. Singing a song like a conversation... what an idea.

Shatner's last album (produced by Ben Folds) was really, really good.

Gobuyit

If by 'sing', you mean raspily speak in monotone deadpan, then yes, he does. Quite well in fact.
