ROCKNROLLA (Guy Ritchie movie)

Looks like complete and utter shit, indistinguishable from the rest of Guy "One-trick-pony" Ritchies films.

How do you mean, he always has an interesting hook/angle.
Besides his movies are always fast paced, with lots of hilarious twist, they never bore.
Seriously how can you look at that without a smile on your face, especially the car scene.

Because I get a feeling of deja vu. Didn't he make this film before? Two or three times?

-.-
He's SO goddamn samey.

But what does watching his films make you feel like.
Because they entertain me and that makes me feel good, and in accordance I like his movies.

After watching one of them once all subsequent ones left me bored.

Brilliant. Haven't seen a Guy Ritchie film yet that I didn't like.

I'm just glad that Guy Ritchie is making anything that looks good after so long.

Funny how no one says that about Quentin Tarantino and the man's inability to write characters that don't all share the one personality.

I saw Ludacris in the still shot of the trailer and didn't bother. So sick of the shit rapper turned shit actor trend.

Is that Super Hans I saw?

Indeed it was :D

Personally I quite like Richies efforts. I think that he's unfortunately been tarred badly as a result of all the other shitty mockney films, and the TV series was a bad idea. I personally quite liked Revolver. It's certainly not a perfect film, and the dialog isn't ideal, but as long as you realise it's not actally a gangster film, but a tale of a man struggling with his inner demons then it makes a lot more sense.

Anyhows, this looks alright.

I was wondering "Who the **** is Jeffrey Bridges?" when they showed his name next to Jeremy Piven. Then the second after they showed his face and a little part of me died.

I have absolutely no idea how anyone can dislike Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and Snatch. Seriously. What is wrong with you?

---

Revolver on the otherhand, was shite compared to his earlier work so let's try to forget it ever existed - kind of like the new Indy, anything after T2, etc. -

You speak as if they're two seperate movies? ^^

They definitely are. They've got plenty of similarities, but theres some serious style differences between the two.

A good chunk of it has to do with how they're shot. Lock Stock was obviously done for a lot less money than Snatch, and it overall has a much more rough and indy feel to it's cinematography. The two films also have much different pacing, with Snatch being both slicker and more frenetic.

They do of course share a director, setting, and some actors, so they're definitely similar in a lot of respects. They're just not interchangeable, and I've known more than a few people who were big fans of Snatch and unaware of even Lock Stock's existence.
