Holy shit. Did anybody watch the US Open? The news is still too fresh, so there aren't any videos or articles yet, but I'm sure there will be soon.

So, in absence of other sources of info... care to fill us in?

Sure.

0-30 Feder has the lead, Djokovic hits the ball past and over Feder, Feder runs back to save it, has to hit it between his legs without looking, the no-look-between-the-legs-backwards-shot is a winner. Puts Federer at match point. He wins. Amazing shot.

Him and Nadal are just gods when it comes to tennis, hacks is the only way to describe it lol.

Once video of this shot is available, i'm sure it'll be posted here. What an amazing shot to see in action.

I'll be honest: I'm UTTERLY CLUELESS about tennis. I don't know ANY of the rules: when a ball is in or out, when you get a point, how the points work. I have never played a game of tennis in my life. But despite that, that looked like a pretty cool move bro.

Didn't know there were tennis fans here. Awesome.

Federer is great and all, but he's kind of a bore to me. Andy Murray is where it's at, although he totally blew it against Cilic.

Edit:

I hope Del Potro wins, mostly because of his underdog status. I mean, who isn't the underdog against Federer?

Yeah, well... when you're ranked 1st in the world for Men's Tennis, EVERYBODY ELSE is the underdog :P

Darn that's just epic...
In between the legs though that's a bit risky eh?

Brilliant shot by Federer. Would like to see the best point in tennis history though.

Nadal just lost in straight sets to Del Potro.

GODLIKE!

Yeah but he is in a bad run, all tennis players suffer it from time to time. You would be stupid to question Nadal's ability, when he is firing all cylinders the guy is just as good if not better than Federer. His and Federer's Wimbledon final two years ago is like one of the best sporting matches I have seen.

And Lenin, another Murray supporter! :D He has got an amazing talent, definately the best to come out of the uk for a long time if not ever (my tennis knowledge doesn't stretch that far back) but he does really stupid things like loosing Cilic, I watched the match and was horrified. But he plays his cards right he can be an all time great I think. The fact that he scottish is awesome too, English on the papers can't take it.

So the ball can bounce once in his area, and then it can bounce out of bounds, past his area, after he hits it? and its still legal?

Five minutes of watching it and you can pretty much cover the entire ruleset. I'm not much of a tennis fan (had a few lessons when I was a kid, watch the Wimbledon finals and that's about it), but you just don't get a better one on one sport where the players are near constantly on their toes trying to out-do each other tactically and physically.

Tennis can never legitimately be called a boring sport, because Cricket will always exist to prove you wrong.

The ball can only land once. If your opponent has landed it in, you have to return it before it bounces again if you wish to stay in play. The court is only relevant to where the ball lands, not the airspace it travels through. Simples.

I watched that shot live last night....amazing!
