Romero, you one trick pony, you.

oh god...ok....yeah you're george romero....yeah you basically founded the whole zombie thing....but c'mon... how many *fill in the blank* of the dead movies are we gonna get before you stick to producing other peoples movies only.

Contrary to most I was a great fan of Land of the Dead, it was a great continuation of the series and the themes (each film has a different form of social commentary btw, they don't all just hammer home the same message). Diary of the Dead attracted me less as going back to the timeframe of the original outbreak seemed pretty much back-pedalling and detrimental to the series. I'll see it eventually though. It looks like this one may be set at the same time as Dawn or Day as the zombies seem fairly widespread and the survivors don't look too organised yet.

I'll wait and see where this takes us to be honest as to whether I get excited or not.

But it's always a painfully obvious attempt at social commentary that gets in the way of brain eating. Land of the Dead alternates between being cringworthingly patronising and dull, and isn't at all clever in getting its simple message across. I still remember letting out a sigh when I realised what he was trying to do in the movie.

All of this would be ok if the zombie parts were good and there were some scares and shocks, but he ****ed that up too. I could make a better zombie movie than Romero.

the thing that bothered me is mostly the use of cheap scares. that can be nicely seen in DiaryOTD

Hmmm....Taking it a bit far now.
I especially like day of the dead for the gore.Example:

I understand this one has something to do with the survivors waiting for a cure for their undead loved ones.

I thought this thread was about John Romero. oddly enough the thread title fits John as well as it does George
