Story from earlier can be found here. The record was broken a few hours ago thanks to the efforts of thisnovember5th.com and the donations are still steadily rising. This is the first time I've truly been excited about about supporting a candidate.

Remember, remember the Fifth of November,
The Gunpowder Treason and Plot,
I know of no reason
Why Gunpowder Treason
Should ever be forgot.

This clearly isn't worthy of mainstream media's mention.

What the hell? Why?

Because he wants to totally rip apart the entire system we live under. Congress will not go along with him so if he is elected president the entire government would be shut down for the 4 years he will be president.

But there is no point in discussing this, he will never be elected president under the system we have in place.

So you oppose change?

I was going to say the same thing lol. I think some people and monkeys are in a comfort bubble and just fail to realise how unsustainable the debt based system that we have is, something needs to be done or things will just implode.

He want to destoy every safety net that exists for the poor and sick. He will leave the underprivileged to their own and let the forces of anarcho-capitalism do with them as they wish. It would be a disaster for all the poor people of the US.

So you oppose change?

What are you, Karl Rove?

No I don't oppose change, I oppose the change that Ron Paul wants to do. I don't think all his positions are wrong, in fact I didn't list anything I agree or disagree with him on. I simply stated a simple fact, if he was somehow elected president the government would be totally shut down for the next 4 years. Congress would never go along with 99% of what he wants to do. It would be like electing a tree stump to be president, which would still be better than electing any other republican.

Huh? Karl Rove is clearly an advocate of the present debt based system if you listen to his imperialistic elitist nonesense.

That's all and well that your practically accepting the bureaucracy and corruption, but where do you think it's going to go if we carry on like this?

It can't really carry on in any stable form whatsover so don't kid yourself. Debt based or 'greed' driven systems historically implode upon themselves. Either in all out wars, or martial law situations, where the elite erradicate the middle classes through their domination of the currency. The 'democracey' we like to think we have is an illusion, so take a good look around and wake up, it's a kleptocracey/Technocracey that we have developed towards.

If we truely believe in democractic principles and a free republic then you will stop talking like all is lost, and anything other than what we have now is impossible because of the bureaucracy we have created.

It's pure clap trap. If enough people are fed up and want change it can happen, It's not their fault that others are living in a dream world where everything is sustainable and fine and dandy when it's not.

He's better than the alternative, but he'll never get elected.

Still better than Hillary. Shes going to get the democratic vote and then its all downhill form there.

Ron Paul seems good at face value, but once you actually start looking closely at what he believes and what he wants to do with the government, he starts to look ****ing nuts.

He would still keep things like social security, just let people opt out of the system.

Meh, I appreciate that a lot of people (especially clarky...I love you clarky *gays*)
who have more understanding of the debt based system in the US and about the fed and what-not, but so do I think Ron Paul has and even if he'll demolish most governmental supervision of health care, education and a lot of other sectors the government usually had been in charge of.

That's his basic principle of reducing government involvement in *your* everyday lives as far as I understand.

Nevertheless, since I'm just german, I pretty don'T have to be intrigued by possible collapse of the social services the government so far in charge of,
however since he's gonna revolutionize the whole idea about the american awareness of the constitution (which the military industries probably will be afraid of, just imagine how shocked lockheed martin's gonna be when he withdraws all military presence from abroad and reduce the spending on military equipment:p)
and the non-intervention foreign policies.

However, I could surely imagine Ron Paul not even making it through the primaries if somebody seizes controle over the voting machines (or have you us-folks threw them in the waste-bin where they belong?) or simply kills him off like they killed off JFK because he was just too....progressive with his resentment for the "pax americana" and secret societies.

Hillary is a ****ing voters' cock sucking whore.

I meant Karl Rove in the way he said "So you oppose change" totally ignoring what I said.

You are also ignoring what I am telling you.

Unfortunately, this is what the majority base their votes on in our system.

Well the rest of the Republican party already look ****ing nuts.

Rudy "noun, verb, and 9/11" Guliani
Mitt "Enhanced Interrogation Techniques" Romney
Mike "I don't believe in evolution" Huckabee
Fred "Hi I'm late" Thompson

The only other Republican with sense and experience would be John McCain.

McCain is a crazy old man who doesn't know what he believes. He sings songs about bombing Iran to Beach Boy tunes, and truly defines the term flip flop. He always seems to change his mind about Iraq, quickly defending himself by reminding us all that he was tortured.

I really hope he doesn't get into office, although he might be slightly better than Guliani, Romney, Huckabee, or Thompson.

I can't believe people still give a shit about that "Bomb Iran" thing.

Please, children. Grow up.

If he wanted to do everything IMMEDIATELY, I would be worried too, but he takes a more intelligent approach to these issues. For example with the federal reserve, his first steps are to authorize competing currencies and force more transparency & government oversight of the Federal Reserve.

McCain flip=flops MUCH worse than John Kerry ever did; he has less backbone than a worm.

Current safety nets are too bloated, wasteful, and easy to take advantage of. Well over half the people in the "safety net" use it like a hammock.

By simply removing social security, medicare, and similar taxes people would have at least 20% more resources at their disposal (in the US, employer pays 7.5%, then employee pays a LOT more).

Ron Paul seems good at face value, but once you actually start looking closely at what he believes and what he wants to do with the government, he starts to look ****ing nuts.
To each his own, but it was the reverse for me. A simple overview and he seems to be in the same pool as the conspiracy theorists; I only became interested after taking a closer look.

Ok, I'm running on a bit *Phantom passes the torch* Flame on kids! (except no one is flaming here yet, which is good)

However McCain is the ONLY one who opposes torture outright, has called the Iraq War "terribly mismanaged" from the start, opposes government pork barrel spending, and actually believes in evolution. He is the only frontrunner candidate, aside from Paul, that saw extensive military service. He has also praised Ron Paul in his reading of "Wealth of Nations", which makes me feel a little better that McCain has perhaps read it.

So because some people abuse the system we should remove the safety net for everyone? Welfare costs this country around $50 billion a year, we spend close to $500 billion on military not counting what we are currently spending in Iraq. People act as if the people that abuse the system are living some lavish lifestyle, they aren't. They are living in poverty because they are too ****ing lazy to work. If thats what they want to do with their life let them, it doesnt cost any of us that much but at least the people that do need it have something to fall back on and don't starve.

Hilary Clinton will be the next President, it's so obvious, everyone else may as well just give up now.

Keep in mind that I don't "pick sides of the track," so don't presume I support a large number of issues automatically just because I mentioned one or two. One "evil" doesn't justify another anyway, sadly he republican when they finally got power squandered it and made government so much larger rather than making it smaller which is what they preached and everyone wanted. I wouldn't completely eliminate it myself, but I would post some more intelligent restrictions which would at least limit abuse (like max 4 months unemployment), beyond that there are charities.

Staying on the subject of Ron Paul, he wants to vastly reduce military spending by bringing our troops home from all over the world.

I really disagree with his neoliberal policies, and for some reason a lot of people here do to. Which confuses me. But how good a politician is isn't only determined by their policies, there are usually more then one way to solve a problem. Whats equally important is the capability and personality of the leader. And Ron Paul seems a very honest and capable person. He seems like a person capable of admitting mistakes and taking responsibility.

I like Ron Paul only becuase he isn't the typical "OMFG I LOV TEH RAYGAN DA MOST LOLOL 9/11 9/11 terroism im jack buar" Republican.

I wouldn't vote for him, but then again I don't want to vote for any of the Fagacratubli****s - all of them make me /facepalm.

PS: Why is there so much Hilliary hate? I've seen so many people say "Man, I would NEVER vote for Hilary!" and you ask them why and all they say is "becuase shes like so yanno political or something" which loosely translates out to "I have no ****ing clue why I dislike Hilliary Clinton."

This is my impression.

Its seems to me that he just wants to shut down a lot of governmental powers, the very things that could watchdog warn us if our commander and chief was like, Vader x10.

The problem right now is our government in general (Bush is part of the problem, but only a small part) is too powerful & intrusive. Spending is out of control, the size of government is out of control, & as much as I hate to side with conspiracy theorists, the government is far too controlling and intrusive.

I don't think anyone with much power in government ix Vader x10, but an increase in government power ENABLES someone to become Vader x10.

I think the point that No Limit was trying to make was that there is such a huge disconnect between Ron Paul's proposed policies and what the current people in congress believe that none of Ron Paul's policies would ever make it through congress to be made into law. Sure, he could WANT to change things a whole lot, but wanting doesn't do crap if none of the bills even make it to the floor.

Likewise, he could veto anything he didn't like that DID make it through congress, and unless they can get a 2/3 majority to vote to override the veto, then its a stalemate there as well.

So like he said, nothing will change. It's not a matter of "opposing change" (lol), the fact of the matter is things won't change.

since i don't know what the F is going on i'll be quiet. but clarky if you think the US has a technocratic (in it's true sense) then you are wrong.

yes there are some different branches in the technocratic movement, but even those don't resemble it.

look into

everybody has this stupid ideas about technocracy being an elitist society. actually it is more one the socialistic side than capitalistic.

There are many reasons to hate Hillary. Bill Cltinon has a lot of blood on his hands in regards to his foreign policy. She is very calculating and will do and say anything she needs to to win elections. She voted for an amendment that declared Iran's military a terrorist organization which gave Bush exactly what he wanted. She did this while refusing to admit that her vote for the Iraq War Resolution was a mistake. I could go on and on and on. If she was elected as president she would be like Bill, the best republican president this country will have.

And, admit it, the US could do a lot friggin worse.

Well, thats why I think I'm voting for Senator Mike Gravel. The Clinton Juggernaut however, nipped his campaign in the arse temporarly.

The following video is one of the main reasons why I like Ron Paul. He gets slammed with some tough questions and answers them honestly without side-stepping one bit. His integrity and belief in the constitution puts all the other candidates to shame.
