RPC server unavailable

my luck is really gone.
when trying to go to Disk Management in Administrative Tools, message "The RPC server is unavailable."
last thing i did was, format the 3rd partition, 2gb to NTFS so i can pop a page file inthere. itsthe S-ATA drive agian, with windows 2000.
now, this happened before. when i rebooted, it wouldbt load up windows again.
im not switching this computer off until i can get this sorted. I DONT WANNA BOOT UP WITH 4 FLOPPYS AGIAN! IVE HAD ENOUGH.
maybe i should just clean-wipe all my hard drives and start from scratch. oh dear.
ok, managed to install nero, now i will burn some important files to CD and try one more time to get windows working, if not, i shall make a fresh start.

gotta love computers, especially on a saturday night after work

its ok, just rebooted
im obviously not having a good week. ive got so many complicated questions. 'why the f**k do i have logical drives?' 'why do i want them?' etc i just want partitions.
what exactly is the difference between the 'boot' partition and the 'system' partition. (win2k being on 'boot', 'system' being the first partition on the drive.)

im just gonna go to sleep now, i feel like ive spammed up the whole forum
please disregard my first post about RPC server, seems to be ok for now
