Ok played CS:S for a while, love it... Aside from one major problem... Rubber banding! I rubberband like crazy. I will teleport back a 1/2 second every 2 seconds or so. It's very annoying. Anyone else experience this?

In any case this was the only problem I saw aside from the crosshairs = ) Oh and the refresh rate issues are something that really annoy me, though not necessarily a "bug"

i think thats because the engine currently isnt handling lag too well at the moment, it seems to cause a handful of problems...

unless i'm mistaking what you mean by 'rubber banding'?

Rubber banding is a term coined from MMORPG's IIRC. It's when you move forward then bounce back to where you were a couple seconds ago (in mmorpg's) This is the same thing I experience in CS:S just on a much shorter timescale (allthough much more frequent)

yeah, thats what i thought... the game deals with lag in a way thats different to cs1.6, instead of going shakey, people 'rubber band'

i hope they will improve the netcode! perhaps this is a server problem and not a client problem?

the servers I played seemed much better than what you're describing, but it wasn't as good as typical vanilla CS. Either these new servers are unoptimized, the code is unoptimized, or the bandwidth and processing requirements are just significantly steeper.

I'm experiencing it too.... I think its the servers.... or a weird beta issue

Rubberbanding like in the Battlefield series when you lag? that's awful :|

Check your configs if your rates are wrong then you'll be getting some choke, can't remember the command, something like:

cl_cmdrate 100 or (default in CS:S 30)
cl_updaterate 45 (default in CS:S 20)

these were the my values for CS1.6 but I don't know how much the netcode has changed and what the values should be now.....

(mess with the numbers till you see no choke on the netgraph -add: netgaph "3" to your config-)
