Well, I'm going to play a couple of rugby matches with some mates at school against other schools, but I don't want to get owned :(

So any help would be welcome, we already train every week now.

Oh, and my fysical condition is good, because I play basketball.

Shoot!

Hmm, don't do a hoppawadi. (If that is how it's spelt.)

Let's just say it was tackle involving a finger and a poop-hole.

And Australian rugby was never the same again.

The rules of rugby consist of

1. Don't kill anyone

That is all.

Be the hooker, and scrumhalfs are fun....Pass the ball back not forward, and dont go for the big black kid...

Tackle round the legs, and commit yourself fully- you'll come off worse if you dont.
If you get the ball, hold on to it, dont pass or kick it- that way when you get tackled, you'll be ready- nothing worse than a "yay i dont have the ball anymore- SMACK- late tackle"

when the ball is dead just ruck over it and go to ground assuming you've got support
dont bother picking it up as you will end up giving away possession either in a turnover or by holding the ball

I don't really want to play rugby anymore now :o

In a huge bundle try, get your arms up a bit so you can stop the full pressure on your rib cage, will ease it for you, also stopping elbows in your face etc. Try tackle fully rather than half hearted or you'll hurt your shoulder. If you dive at them from behind, keep your face up so you don't get studs in your eye. Biggest one, KEEP YOUR EYES OPEN, e.g. stay alert. Don't wanna get hit hard without knowing, a second preparation will save you. Its a great game! Dunno how pro your playing, but i used to play last year at college, had some GREAT laughs (especially when its muddy :) ) When its over you'll feel great!
