run on full

First, here's some of my computer specs:
AMD Athlon XP (Barton core) 3000+
512 MB of ram
nVidia 6600 GT
...so i was wondering if i may be able to play HL on full graphics (no AA), and 1280 x 1024 res. I was just asking cause i've never played the leak so i have no idea.

With no AA, almost definitely. And you know we have stickies for a reason. :/

just turn the AF to 4x and run it on 1024 to be safe. thats what i do, as it looks similar to 1280 but runs much better. but just fiddle around to see how well different settings work.

i read the sticky, but i didn't think that recommended specs = ability to operate game at full quality. oops

You sure you have a 6600 GT on an athlon XP board? Its PCIe only!

My friend has the *cough* leak *cough* (what a bastard) and he has same as you except for a 9800XT. He can run it at 1280 fine.

Hmmm...yeah, but you do realize that the leak is missing like a billion textures and stuff, and wasn't anywhere near how HL2 will run, right?

I would certainly hope you could play Half-Life on the highest graphical settings.

As for HL2, only time will give you a completely accurate answer... but I would say "Probably."

The card is as almost as good as Radeon 9800 XT , so everything that card can handle, the 6600 GT can handle too, maybe with a few fps less.
