Running out of resources...

I've recently installed the SDK, and I am encountering a problem with hammer. Basically, after running hammer for a few minutes (doesn't seem to be specific to the amount of time) I completely run out of resources. Hammer also begins to pop up little dialogs that say this:
"A required resource was"
I'm not loading any giant maps or anything, And I've only got a couple brushes placed (It happens too quick to do anything, and once the dialog pops up it's impossible to save.)
I've tried reinstalling the SDK multiple times, and have no clue what to do to fix this. Any ideas?

Turn down the amount of undo steps, it's the big killer.

theres a sticky about this on the VERC forums. it seems that having the SDK menu open can do this, and by simply closing this and play games menu it doesn't happen anymore for some. it fixed it for me

Be careful not to close steam itself down though, or Hammer wont be able to load any new models that you try to place.
