Yesterday I went on my quest to find The Legend of Zelda : Ocarina of Time.
After a few other posts involving this game recently I had the urge to play it so I dug my N64 out of the closet, it still had Turok: Seeds of Evil in it lol.
I then went to Microplay which only had Majoras Mask, all gold versions and that was $30 the guy there told me try Cash converters which was right next door. Walked over there and checked with them, they had quite a few N64 games but no OoT  Soooo from here I went to EB games...they did not have one N64 game which is quite sad. I live in the smallest province in Canada so there are not too many gaming stores. I tried Blockbuster and Jumbo Video for some hope but they only had used PS2 and Xbox games for sale. So in the end I turned to Ebay and bought Ocarina of Time for $20 canadian including shipping which isn't too bad. Thus ending my saga of trying to find this game. Magical yes?

Why is it called sadness when you actually found the game in the end?

Truly magical. Of course... if you owned it already you could have downloaded a ROM...

or you could have downloaded a rom anyway :P (*cough* aslong as you delete it in 24 hours *cough*)

Definently magical; its like something out of the Goonies.

get "project64" - an emulation program and you can d/l all the roms from the old games, get a converter and you can plug your n64 controller into a usb port:)

You guys are over looking the fact that I'm incredibly lazy.

Too lazy to download something, but not lazy enough to not trawl through a million shops?

The very existence of roms is illegal, as it requires breaking of copyright laws to obtain them from the cartridges. Even if you own an original cartridge, the rom you are downloading isn't made from your own but from someone elses, and therefore isn't a backup.

Also, that 24 hour rule is a myth and is a prime reason why you shouldn't take leagal advice from pirates.

Just so ya know.

and why play a rom of OoT when you can play it as it was meant to be played - on a tv with an N64 pad.

Emulators are good fun - but never offer the experience of the real thing :)

But if you dont have access to equipment to let you backup your game, then you can get it from other places... it's the same game. And pfft, sue me. :imu:

Gawwwwd. This means you don't even have Wind Waker?? I got Master Quest which is basically OOT free with my version.

Actually I like it better on emulators. N64 graphics nowadays are horribly fuzzy on TV's, but they're totally sharp on monitors. Some plug-ins for emulators also sharpen the textures or let you replace them completely.

You also get extras on emulators like resolution choices and save states letting you save wherever you want.

The only problem is that shooting games can be a little awkward. Using a keyboard to aim while strafind and running can be very hard. I am having great troubles with the Alien shooting section of Majora's Mask while just using the WASD keys to aim.

Naw I have Wind Waker, but nothing compares to OoT, best game ever in my opinion <333

Go buy a gamepad. I loved Majora's Mask and OoT which I played on Project64 ^_^. Great emulator. When you have a Gamepad...it makes it even better :),

Yes, buy a gamepad. I can't even imagine playing SNES games with a keyboard, let alone N64 games (NES games are do-able, though). I've got a Saitek P2500, it's adequate for N64 games but it would be nice if there was a Z-trigger on it. So I use the L button as Z, which works out good because hardly any games even use the L button.

I think N64 games look worse with a high resolution. The 'fuzzyness' blends all the textures together nicely, makes everything look real and solid. OoT looks better blurry :)

The first time I played Majora's Mask was using an emulator. It wasn't so bad - using an adapter which allows N64 pads to be used on a pc. It still didn't feel quite right though. A day later i'd purchased the cart and was playing it as Nintendo intended - much better :)

Main reason I don't like Emulation.

Body Harvest is just plain broken when trying to emulate.

Emulators are cool for NES games but that's my opinion, its fun playing knock out or battle frogs and a few other cool games but when it comes to the 64...don't **** with the 64

i hope you have fun w/ OoT! favorite game of all time for me.

confirmed downloadable for the Revolution!!! w00tage! :D :D :D :D

Would you believe that I owned an N64, yet the Zelda games were the only ones I didn't play?
