Why's everywhere treating her like some goddess of music?

I've listened to loads on Youtube to see why loads of music sites are hyping her up, but all her songs are lame.

It seems like anyone who's slightly experimental or ambient gets thought of as a genius when they're just a bit shit - like Bjork.

I enjoy Sade. Having said that I haven't heard most of her stuff, but I like her voice and what songs I have heard.

Its not jealousy, but I hate her so-called 'rise to fame'. The whole of the UK became obsessed with her, and I couldn't stand seeing her face on every newspaper, all over the news etc etc.

There were two Sade songs I really liked back in the early 90s, but I haven't really been paying attention since.

No Ordinary Love was good, but I eventually got tired of it because they played it on the radio too much.

I only listened to a bit of this, but was the singer this Sade person? And is this Sade person supposed to be a female? Because whoever was singing in that song was definitely a dude.
