Safe Mode Half Life 2?

I tried to configure my Video for Half Life 2 and now when trying to get into the game all I get is a blank screen and out of sync error on my monitor and I cannot figure out where I can change these settings back to?, there is no safe mode that I can see and also trying to find any *.cfg file but none that looks like it might hold video settings?, any help would be GREATLY appreciated!, Thanks in advance!!!

just delete/rename ur
steamapps\accname\half-life 2\hl2\cfg\config.cfg
and
steamapps\accname\half-life 2\hl2\cfg\autoexec.cfg

this will reset all hl2 settings to default.
video, audio and input

ok
remove the directory:
\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\"your acountname"\half-life 2

all big hl2 files are diretly under Steamapps directory...
ex.
counter-strike source client.gcf
counter-strike source shared.gcf
source materials.gcf

removing anything under \"your acountname"\ will remove your settings

start steam and steam will download the missing files

if you dont trust me on this you can just move the half-life 2 folder and you will still have it if you make a mistake...

where is the point in deleting the exe, the dlls all the saves and screenshots?
that things have nothing to do with hl2 settings.
