I'm doing a bit of tidying inside the old case, and I happened upon approximately 8 copper End Feed Straight Connectors (4 28mm diameter, 4 8mm) and I plan to use these as cable tidies.

Now, some of my cables are sleeved in Vantec cable wrap (mostly fan, cathode and floppy cables), so I'm sure of their safety, however, I want to tidy up the Molexes too, so, is it safe to do so?

What is a "copper End Feed Straight Connectors"?

uhhhh update drivers
That is the greatest hardware/software answer I have ever seen. You must be a genius. :P

Kinda confused, do you have a picture of one of the end feed straight connectors? I tried googling for one and I didn't get anything that seemed correct. When you say use them as cable "tidies" do you mean (I assume they are just copper pipes) just run the wires through them and have em placed like in corners of the case to keep the wires neat and hidden? If thats what you are talking about it is perfectly safe, the PSU wires have the stuff wrapped around em which I cannot think of the name for it right now(If they were not you wouldnt be able to touch them with the computer on).

I'm nab a snap of them tomorrow. They aren't just basic copper pipe, they are connectors between bits of copper pipe.

And yes, they have a plastic coat on the wire :)

Kind of like that, but bigger. I'm not fully piping the cables, that will come later, when my Antec case arrives :) these are just cable tidies, to bunch them together.

No, it's a pipe connector :)

[02:22] <Dalamari> I guarentee it will get 6 pages of people going like "Uhhhh.....update drivers?"
[02:22] <Dalamari> the thread you made

.... spookeh :o

Ok, it will be perfectly fine, only problem I can see with doing any modifications on the wires is removing the molex connectors. It is a real pain in the ass if you don't have the 'official' molex remover. You'll have to get really small tweezers that can fit inside the molex connector and get ahold of one of wires while pushing the two hook kinda things sticking out of the sides. Once you do that it'll easily come out, once you wire it make sure you pull out the little hooks back out when you are going to put it back in.

This sounds stupid, but also notice which wire was in which hole. :P

Yes, I have actually screwed that up before. About the only thing Dedatorv forgot to mention was the swearing. If you dont have that tool you WILL swear at some point in this process. In fact, if you DO have the tool, it's also a PITA at times. :P

I don't have to remove the connectors! The copper bits slide right over the top :)
