I'm sure it's not a coincidence. Valve are kind to their customers but they're not stupid. If people are going to buy the game whatever the cost and before they've even played it (i.e. pre-orders) it would be stupid to deny yourself guaranteed revenue by revealing this offer early.

Was going to get this, but it ends up only ?8 cheaper than buying from retail due to shitty exchange rates caused by the fubared economy.

If i was going to buy from Amazon or Play, i wouldn't even have considered it.

Quicker install if you get it from the shop, and plus you get a shiny box and manual and CD and all the other nice stuff.
