the same problem i had like 4 months ago when i complained to you guys has persisted throughout the summer. my harddrive decides after a couple weeks of use to completely **** up on me no matter what. this time however, everything was perfect. i had a clean install of xp, and constant virus and spyware protection. i go to install a far cry patch, the patch "cant install for blah blah blah reasons", restarts my comp, and now my comp takes an insanely long time to start up. it usually hangs on the windows xp loading screen, then the monitor goes black for a while, then finally i get to my desktop. all my programs still work and nothing is freezing or ****ing up...but my comp is taking a rediculous amount of time to start up, and it all started when i tried installing the far cry patch. any ideas?
