Samsung cdrw/dvd sm-308B Not copying.

I'm trying to create CD's with this cd read/writable drive, and it never works. It doesnt seem to matter what i'm trying to copy, whether it be cds from other games, or burning data onto it from my PC like a text file and some video files, etc.

I am using imatation CD-R 700MB/80MIN Compatible: 1x-24X 650MB/74MIN CD roms to copy...

and in additional to those, I have also tried using Verbatim DataLifePlus CD-RW 650MB ReWritable CD's. It seems these CDS even have a hard time being detected let alone copied to.

No matter what copy program I use, whether windows, or some other really good rated CD copy/burn programs... I get some sorts of errors halfway through the copy process. In the past, these CDS have worked with this CD rom drive, but now... it doesnt seem to want to work at all, and its really frusterating me.

Is it time to get another copy drive, or is there some way to fix this. Help me!

What brand is this CD-RW drive and how old is it? Have you tried updating the BIOS and whatnot?

The brand is Samsung cdrw/dvd sm-308B

As for how old it is. I dunno... 3-5 years?

What... its age? Bah. that can't be the reason Gotta be something else!

Depending on its usage, it probably is. I've had drives fail on me after just one year due to the amount of use it went through.

I only ever copied maybe 3-7 CD's with this thing. Heh. And rarely EVER used it as a DVD/cd player.

you're prolly encountering bufferunderrun

get a new drive anyways, they're cheap

Why dont you try updating the firmware thats what i did with a screwed drive and now it works fine.

just google Samsung cdrw/dvd sm-308B firmware updates.
