Has anybody played it?

This is seperate from GTA:MP.

http://www.sa-mp.com/

Apparently its been released since the 10th, and supports 100 players. I wonder if any of you has played it, or will?

I hate that game. I was so exited before it came out but :

-Way to black culture oriented
-Story and characters un-attractive.
-Map wayyyyy to big and this game was memorable for telling you to go to point A to B wich was allways across the map.
-Engine buggy, lacks "life".

Sounds dumb, why?

And why do you hate the game, Adrien?

Because it focuses on black people, he hates black people.

To gangster and what not, but mp will be something to try out.

Looking at the videos, that looks insanely fun.

I don't know what everyone's whining about, GTA:SA was great.
The gangsta-feel/look/etc. really didn't bother me as much as I thought it would.
Of course, I used a savegame and cheats to progress through the game quicker :p

Yep, tried it some days after the release. Be sure to play on a server in your own country, or expect lag.

I didn't like it either, and it was largly because of the gangsta thing.
You have to imagine in VC you worked your way up, you kicked people's asses, the texts was good, soemtimes cheesy but if fitted. Vice City wasn't nearly as large as SA but god did they pack a lot more gamplay in relatieve terms. Now there is a lot more to do in SA, but it's so spread out. In GTA:VC you could literally come after a month and still find hidden things, VC also took longer to play out then SA for me. It was on a smaller area, but I felt it had more missions, had a lot more depth and characters then SA.

But now the gangsta thing. You have to imagine that in GTA they often do parodies on Radio and they sound rediculus but at the same time smart, and contain a lot of times subtle and not so subtle critisizm about our society. All in all fun. Same with the text in the game. Now the radio is good, not as good as in VC in SA. But the movies are worse then Elfen Laid.
It's hard to explain, but image someone saying gangsta gangsta nigga fool fool nigga for five minuts long, and it's done in a way that isn't fun but just reeks of a lack of imagination. Now that is the story of GTA:SA. The characters are the most stupid I have ever seen in a game. Not only that you stay a lacky of stupididty the whole game long. I

n VC you actually got somewhere, you became something. In this game right up untill the last mission, you are still a lackey of your brother. He literally says the most stupid thing, cares about the most idiot stupid things that even a 5 year old wouldn't do. He literally convinces you to go from wealth to poverty and crime and constantly gives you lectures about what you have to do, and yet he never ever does a dammed shit himself. Half the game I just wanted to go Tommy Vercetti on him, you know just grab a chainsaw and cut him in half. You know, SA is pretty cheap now, so just buy it and experience the horror for yourself, and most likely you won't find it that bad at all, a lot of people were fine with it. SA just feels a lot bigger but more empty then VC, and a lot less intelligent.

i like the gangsterness in the game, was different to the same old mafia theme that so many games do.

Whan you know my brother gangster is something you come to hate.

Although i thought it was funny how my brother used to allways say "I don't give a shit i'm Gangster" then he played it.

I loved Vice City because of the clever writing, voice acting, and scripting. I liked San Andreas because of the massive game world and things to do. So... logically...

Main thing I don't like about san andreas... is the radio stations. They were shit. The ones for Vice city were awesome. I would listen to 70's and 80's music all day long.

SA:MP has a lot going for it.

-Really good sync.
-it doesnt feel like you are playing over the internet 90% of the the time.
-100 player servers can be a real blast.
-You can load your car up with up three teammates (the most I have seen) ,all of whom can free-aim in drivebys.
-the whole map is available in multiplayer.
-Really good sync.

Its not perfect though, it has cheaters, no "say team" command, and a number of glitches.
Most of all it needs more game modes, other than dm and team dm(which is what it boils down to at the moment), but its early days yet.

Personally I thought SA was the best of the series and the whole "gangsta" thing was no more or less stupid than the "mafia" theme of the last two.

off topic:
Could you send me the save game please? I want to reinstall GTA:SA but I want to have total access to the whole map from the gitgo.

I liked San andreas gameplay wise. But story wise, it kinda sucked. Thought gta 3 and Vice city where much better.

Edit: Oh, the Mp sounds fun thou.

Agree to a certain extent, what actually pissed me off the most was the main character. Playing as CJ you just felt like like a dumbass throughout the game, not to mention you felt so insignificant compared to the other GTA characters. The worst part about is that they wasted a much better talent in the game they could've use, I mean c'mon who wouldn't want to play as Sam Jackson? :D Now that's one bad mother****er!

I loved Vice City, it's one of my favourite games, good story, strong characters and nice levels. The characters of SA where dumb and stupid.

I loved the writing in SA. The story wasn't as good as Vice City's, I'll admit, but it was still fun listening to all the characters. Especially Truth on WCTR's "The Pod". I've been replaying the game on Xbox 360, and it brought back my favorite quote from that game:

Sweet: "C'mon, you're not goin out like that, you look like a damn hooker!"
Kendl: "Oh, and you would know what a hooker looks like, wouldn't you?"
Carl: "You say that like it's a bad thing! :D"
Both: "Shut up, Carl!"

Thats a nice line, and so are some with the blind asian dude. But they do not represent the majority of the story.

I agree with the people that are saying the whole "gangsta" thing in San Andreas was really awfully done. But, I really liked it. It was soo bad it was entertaining, like a terrible horror film you can't help but laugh at. Plus, a lot of the missions were really intense and original, and it really is a fun game to play.

On multiplayer for gta, It might be good because of head shots and vehicles and stuff, so I'm up for it.

Does anyone actually have a review of this mod?

San Andreas is a big game to reinstall and I don't want to bother if this isn't worthwhile.

It's fun to play, sort of an MMO. It's almost certain you'll meet a few cheaters, but all in all it's fun to drive around, team up with someone and do drive-by's and random shit :)

Liberty City was the best. Then the classics GTA1/2 - I played GTA1 on a LAN and never had so much fun.

San Andreas is too big for fun.

I prefer MTA to SA:MP:

http://www.mtavc.com/

Last time I checked it didn't have this sort of free roam mode and a bad synchronization. And there were only races and stuff like that.

SA:MP is so much better IMHO, unless they changed something in MTA.

San Andreas is the worst GTA game to date.

Because they're black?

j/k :p

There's so much to do there, big cities, lots of vehicles - planes, helicopters; I could understand if someone said he didn't like the theme of the game (storyline etc.) or didn't like the GTA games overall, but I can't understand someone saying it's the worst GAME in the GTA series.

MTA only has races and stuff in but a cool track builder. The other has shooting and what ever you want really.

Does either have AI in? Computer cars/people wondering about.

GTA:SA is the only GTA game I have played other than the original and #2. And I love it. It's probably because I'm not used to all the stuff that makes the GTA 3 series so great. I just assumed that all of them had some gangster story and feel, but now that I know the other two are completley different, I might check them out too!

The most disapointing aspect for me was the radio. I Thought it was no where near as good as Chaterbox or...crap...what was the one from VC? Anyway, no where near as good. Otherwise I loved it. Have it on PC, the mouse makes aiming so easy :D

San Andreas was a dull place to be - it just wasn't as fun as Vice City or Liberty City. The story was good - but not great. The gameplay did not need the RPG stuffs - it was pointless and annoying. Radio sucked - BRING BACK VCPR AND MAURICE CHAVEZ. And Alex Shrub too.

CJ was a retard. And no, I'm not racist. He just sucked.

Vice City was imho easily the best city to roam around in and cause general mayhem.

QFMFT. I really hope there's no eating in the next one!

We've a winner! Vice City ftmfw. I can't wait for Vice City stories on PSP because quite frankly it's the best city out of all of em'.

I liked the RPG stuff, even the eating. To me it just ment far more places to recharge my health.
