Okay... so for some reason I can't find any HDD on Newegg that's both SATA II and 10k RPM. Do they not exist? If not, which will be faster - SATA II at 7.5k RPM or SATA 150 at 10k RPM?

the 150 at 10k sata150 and sata II dont really have a huge diffrence

SATA150 vs SATA300 cable speed only opens the possible speed. Single drives won't be able to take advantage of that except a little bit with burst transfers. RAID is a different story though.
10,000 RPM actually increases how the drive performs and the improvement would be more constant than just burst transfers.

FYI SATA 2 is not a offical standard. There are other features that have been recently added to SATA drives such as NCQ and 3.0GB/s speed and makers put the SATA2 sticker on it. You will find some drives with SATA150, 10,000 RPM, and NCQ but others with SATA300, 7200 RPM etc (a mix of features). It's all technically under the first SATA standard.

150GB Raptor 10,000 RPM drive - Review
Both WD and Seagate have a good 500GB harddrive out there too. Here is a review that has all 3 drives.
I think all of these drives have a 5 year warranty.
Maxtors only have 1 year. Hitachi and other Western Digial drives have 3 years I think.

id also wait to see what is going to happen with the maxtor seagate merger before buying maxtor

Seagate to cut Maxtor in half.

Also that link I had above (HERE) reviews seagates first harddrive with Maxtor's tech.
