I recently downloaded the Savage demo and it's a pretty awesome game. This Real Time Strategy\First Person Shooter is like a dream come true that I never dreamed of. I'll tell you all just a little bit about this one of a kind game.
The enviroments are huge. The details on the maps are awe inspiring, not quite Half-Life2 but still great. The shadows cast from the clouds are way cool too. There is a dynamic sky(I think that's the term) and the place goes from day to night so seamlessly you hardly notice it.
The Commander is the guy who does the base building and stuff. He commands the workers and gives suggestions(more later) to the "Army". It's the Commander's responsiblilty to make sure technology and weapons gets researched and defenses upgraded.
The "Army" consists of other people in the game. Each person controls one guy. These people are completely free to do whatever thay want to. They can harvest resources for the Commander to use to build and upgrade with, or they go earn a living for them selves by killing creeps. You use the money that you get for yourself to upgrade your character and weapons.(kind of like an RPG) While the Commander issues orders and blaces buildings, it's up to the Army to follow through with those orders.
This game is totaly awesome and can be a great way to pass the time until Half-Life 2 comes out. Go download the demo, try it out, and tell the good Half-Life community what you think.
