Thought all us Canadians here might want to check this out.
A handful of companies are threatening to change the way our Internet works.

They want to replace the open network Canadians enjoy today with a discriminatory or "gatekeeper network" -- where they decide which content and services get the fastest access to our homes. They want to take away access to the open Internet.

Seems like a good idea to me. A lot of data like emails and routine files aren't as time sensitive as other things like say, video games or streaming video where you need to have speed.

Net neutrality is always a good thing.

I will kill anybody who says otherwise!

its generally set to favour commercial interests .

Paper ---> Radio ---> TV ---> Internet

all of these were a public trades which started out in its pure form: real
but over time they become monopolized by corporations and tycoons who make them more narrow minded for the viewer. its like anything involved with humanity, someone creates something glorious than some jerkass has to come along and plug all the informative pipelines that stop the flow of relative information to all of mankind

But UMERIKAH matters most! Nah srsly all ze verald deserves 100% of internetz. **** those assholes.

... and video games and video are both commercial interests. Problem solved.
Which are enabled by larger commercial interests i.e. internet service providers. Do you really believe they care how fast you can stream a movie, or how low your ping is, so long as they get your money?

Game Theory, man.
