Save files have disappeared

I am posting because windows (or my bios) decided to set the clock back a month, well this in turn caused my half life 2 save files from the past month to disappear. I changed the date back and the save files are still gone. If anyone that is pretty far into the game right around when (spoiler) you get the squad of 6 or 7 guys in the street (one of the levels revisited from way earlier in the game) post a save file or tell me anyway to recover my lost save files?

Open console and type sv_unlockedchapters 15
That will unlock all the Chapters in the New Game window so that you can just start from the last level instead of playing through the whole game.

(thats quoted from a search i did on the forums. Which i advise you do next time. Enjoy the rest of your game)

p.s. If that doesnt work, you may need sv_cheats 1 before you do it, but i'm not sure.
