Hi there, I'm new to Half Life 2 so please be nice :cheese: . I have HL2 installed on my pc, I play in offline mode, the problem is that I've discovered that I'm overwriting games that my son also plays. Is there a way to save our own individual games, so that we're not overwriting each others games each time we play?

Thanks in advance for any help you guys can give :)

Press "esc" during the game, then choose "Save Game". This will not overwrite any saved games.

Cool, thanx for replying. What about autosaves? Should I allow them, or save manually before they happen? And if autosave happens before i get the chance to save manually will it overwrite my manual saves? the other players autosaves or manual saves? Cheers very much, and thanx for your help.

My advice is to not worry about the autosaves because they are going to happen anyway, they only take up two slots and they only clobber themselves, not games that you manually save. Save your own games using the "Esc/Save Game" method when you are at a point in the game that you feel comfortable.
If you get really keen then you can find where the games are stored (they are just files). You can take a copy of the saved game files and put them back the next time you (or anyone else) plays.

Excellent thanx! I had thought about doing that, but wasn't sure if it would disrupt the game in any way, but now i know what i can do so cheers you guys. ;)
