I have some textures I want to use on a model that need to be self-illuminated. It seems you need a alpha channel to do this. You can use either 1-Bit or 8-Bit to do this but since the texture only needs a completely white alpha channel I only need to use 1-Bit. The problem is I don't know how to even save a VTF with 1-Bit alpha as apposed to 8-Bit. There is no vtex command that I know off and I can't seem to get the Photoshop plug-in to do it either. Does the TGA source texture have to be 16-Bit for this to work?
