What's it like compared to the original? Better? Worse? On par?

I just liked each little story of the things and setup's he puts people in (In the first one).

Better. Much.

It made me jump a few times.

I thought it was an awesome movie. Definetly go see it. I don't think you will be disappointed.

cant bring myself to watch it since its ads are complete cheddar

The first one was ok. It had some interesting stuff in it. I dunno if I'll see the 2nd one or not...

i caught this flick on Friday night and i thought it was pretty good actually.
i mean while most horror/gore flicks generally blow, this one was a few notches above that...but of course it also boils down to personal taste too.

i loved the first one , it was awesome and it got a great ending
cant wait to see the second one :D

I think I liked SAW II more than the first
great horror movies.

Not freaking out is the key to survival. Not to mention to look for mechanical triggers

the first one was good only for scaring females = more cuddling for ennui

i will probably use the second one to the same purpose

:O

You sly fox.

Meh it's sort of a rehash of the first, and gee golly what a shocker, there will be a Saw 3! The ending was really messy though, it felt like I was watching a trailer of Saw 2 in Saw 2...

Is the only way you can have a female touch is by taking her to a scary B movie? :E

Except the fact that none of you have any females to cuddle with at all to any movie.

hey i just said the trailer looked bad, i didnt say i wasnt going to hate it :p

the movie was good but so damn frustrating. There were some dumb people in that. And that cop seriously pissed me off, he'd seen the other cases he should have understood how the damn thing worked. Then the girl who had her hands in the plastic box. What made her think the second hole would be any different from the first? ....dumb bitch...

i mean, that arm thing would have only worked if she was alone...and stupid, but forgetting the fact that she had to have an IQ of roughly 12, if she had other people in the room when the box started to rise, they could have just picked her up? And all she needed was one free hand to get out of that trap, so if she didn’t stick the other hand in she could have escaped from it solo.

Also that gun in the beginning in the keyhole was dumb because why would someone else look through the keyhole as it opens, why would the person opening the door look through the keyhole while he is opening it, and why would it be worth it to engineer a gun in a keyhole on the slim chance someone would be standing in front of it when it opened? Just too unrealistic realistically speaking.

I dont know..the more i think about it, the more i just get annoyed. Sure i didn't see the ending coming, but those people were so worthless, and the 'traps' weren't all that cool. The dude in the beginning was a direct copy from Amanda in the first saw.

And the dude in the oven? Sure i understood why the door closed, but they had to open the door first so the handle obviously works, but then when it closed it locks? So it automatically locks the second time but not the first time it’s closed? But maybe it didn't lock, maybe the handle was just too hot to open, then how come nobody took off his/her shirt and used that to open it? And even if that didn’t work, the whole time, since i saw the fire turn on i was screaming at the guy to kick the window out or the dude on the outside to hit it with the bat at least he could have gotten the antidotes out. And sure, he could have turned it off if he really wanted to, but he obviously thought that getting mildly burned on the arm wasn’t worth his life, so whatever.

And the house doors locking? Ok, yea, so the door is locked, but the place is a million years old, they destroyed the door earlier with minimal effort, what’s to stop them from tearing a wall down and going outside or busting in the wall into the room with the antidotes instead of going in through the door? I mean I can tear the wall down in my house now and it’s nearly new, I’ve seen a girl trip on her house steps, fall down three steps, and hit a wall and put a hole in it. And she’s like 115lbs, so I know that big dude could if he wanted too, especially with a bat.

sorry, but some of this stuff annoys me almost as much as 'omg the car wont start!!' or 'omg the cell phone doesn't have service/the battery JUST died!'

This film sucked. The 1st one was twice as good. This one was just a lame hack and slash movie with dumber logic. The twist was obvious compared to the first movie's too (the twist about the girl, not about the guy's son.)

The first movie was intense. 2 guys trapped in this little room with no obvious way out other than cutting their own feet off.

There was also 0 reason for that guy to go around killing people. How hard is it to ask to look at the back of people's heads? The girl sticking her hands in the holes... how unbelievably stupid can someone be? How did the blonde chick die from the poison about 30 mins before everyone else?

Saw 1 - 6.5/10
Saw 2 - 3/10 (lowered my rating from the other thread)

also. That plastic box, it wasn't a game. The other traps had a way out, they just had to hurt themselves in the process. But the box was different, it was a trap, the only way to get the syringe would be to stick her hand up in there, and then use her other hand to push the blades up so she could pull her hand out. But if she had both hands in there, then she would get them cut off, and not get the syringe...

and the little pool of syringes that dude threw the girl in, wouldn't that have killed her? I mean most of those syringes were open, and when she went in i'm some of the needles she landed on got compressed, and wouldn't that inject her with air, and isn't that deadly?

edit: i think the little girl died before everyone else because maybe she was the smallest?

You're right, there was no proper way out. It's just annoying that the entire trap was based on her being on her own. There's no way Jigsaw could have foresaw that. It's like the movie Flightplan, the entire movie was based on something which had a big chance of not happening (Jodie Foster's char falling asleep.) If all of the victims had entered that room together, they would've laughed at the stupidity of Jigsaw on that one.

The guy in the oven should've injected himself then got out of there before taking the 2nd syringe. I would've done that then told them to go in and get the other one on their own.

no, but this way is easier and more gratifying as it sets the stage for more touching

Yea, i noticed those problems as well. I guess the most interesting part is seeing the "sick and twisted" tests Jigsaw sets up. I was not as satisfied as most others seemed. Better than most horror films, but not worth seeing unless you need a movie for your girlfriend to cling to you for... oooo the needles.... ah... ah... OWWW!

It can't be worse than the first, surely?

This movie was bad, bad! Its a definently a no, no. I'm suprised the number of people who enjoyed this. Agreed with both StardogChampion reviews on both Saw I and II.
