Never cared much for saw.

This looks stupid.

And holy shit 5 movies? Come on!

JUST LET THIS SHITTY FRANCHISE DIE ALREADY FOR THE LOVE OF GOD.

/hate

...Another f*cking SAW movie?
Jesus Christ.

Terrible films.

But I won't deny that they still make me squirm, but a good movie that does not make.

OMFG! Fu*king end it already!!1

Saw 1 was good; second enjoyable; third pushing it; fouth ... o_O wtf

The first movie was an interestomg idea and was pretty good. They should have stopped at the first one.

These movies are the absolute worst. They're not horror, they're not scary, the plot, characters and story are all horrendous, and the series needs to die. **** I hate these movies.

Another inane and uninspired slasher flick. Appeals to little teenagers though.

Trash.

The first Saw was intense, engaging, and I enjoyed the hell out of it. All of the sequels are rubbish.

It's deeply disturbing that anyone would find it enjoyable to watch two hours of people spilling their guts out.

Honestly, this.

It's torture porn. Why people want to subject themselves to this pointless trash is something I don't understand.

Aside from that, the first film was mediocre at best and fell apart the moment you tried to make sense of it after the big "reveal" at the end. That they're still churning out - what, a sequel a year - should be an indication of how much crap it all is. And yet, the masses come.

I tend to wait a few weeks to see SAW movies so I can have some "alone time" in the theater.

Agreed.

Gore needs to have reason to be expressed, not some stupid 'Hey look what we can do on film!' notion.

Like Feast. That actually had a good reason for Ben Affleck getting his head torn off about 2 minutes into the movie after claiming he's the guy who's gonna save their a-*AAAGHAHG* and he gets pulled through a window and the monster let him go and then his corpse drops to its knees and collapses while the erratic blood spray covers this hit chick in his crimson mist and then the guy who played Jay from Clerks and Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back gets his face ripped off by the baby monster and this chick's kid gets swallowed whole and vomited back up all over some fat dude and another dude gets impaled through the stomach by a monster's arm and then the baby monster ****s a moose head mounted on the wall of the bar and then some goth bike bitch gets one of her legs cut off.

**** yeah. Fuhuuuck yeah.

I enjoyed the first one, the second one wasn't good so I haven't watched anything beyond that. they should have stopped after the first one.

There's five?!

The first was good but all the others were terrible! I didn't even see the fourth one.

I really enjoyed the third, being the only one I have seen.

cant wait omg

I hope you are kidding...

The first Saw film was brilliant, I remember my freshman year of HS going to see it in theaters and I was in awe of how well done it was.

Unfortunately, they had to ruin it by making a bunch of shit sequels to appease the teenyboppers that pay to see this shit every time.

Well, off topic from the Saw films, I don't find it deeply disturbing that anyone would find it enjoyable to watch two hours of people spilling their guts out. And if you do, I smell bullshit.

All horror/violent movies since... the 1970's have had people spilling their guts out, this isn't anything new. And all your video games? Please. You are on a website dedicated to Half-Life, the first game where you could blow up humans to chunks of flesh, and the second game in which you could set a headcrab zombie, a still living human being on fire and hear him scream and cry in agonizing pain "HELP ME, GODDD, AHHHHH" as he collapses to his death.

So unless you put all the zombies down in Half Life 2 with a nice painless shot to the head, then bullshit, you love gore in your media like everyone else.

First of all, your video game history is way off. Violence and gibbing existed long before Half-Life.

Secondly, while I do watch films and play games that contain gore - sometimes in excessive amounts - they are not entirely based on the subject. Half-Life 2 may be kind of horrifying when you set a zombie alight and hear it moan and scream, but I'm also driving around apocalyptic wastelands, connecting to memorable characters, fighting a system of oppression, and unraveling a deeply-permeated mystery in its universe. Violence and gore accent its darker tones. They are not the focal point itself.

Similarly, 7even had its share of disturbing moments that portrayed physical human suffering. But there was a coherent thread that ran through all of the murders and an actual point to them. Furthermore, they all lead up to a denoument in revealing the killer's pathology that was far more unsettling in spite of an absence of blood being coated across the screen. Its tension was not derived entirely from displays of mutilation.

I compare it to 7seven, because Saw was basically a ripoff of it (as well as a few other films). All its story and characters are just pathetic excuses for watching a man hack off his foot. That makes it shit, according to me. And in Saw's case, I don't even find a lot of the content particularly disturbing. There's worse films out there. But it's still trash and I resent its aims. It wouldn't be so bad if there were actual characters to root for or anything that could make you give a shit about its happenings. But it's all about the money shot. The gore, the violence, the torture. I have no interest in sitting down and watching such crap for an hour when there isn't even an attempt at providing any other redeeming qualities to the experience. It's the same reason I don't play ****ing Manhunt.

If you want to watch it, more power to you. I can see why people would want to, but I can't fathom how anybody could think it's actually any good.

I do like gore in movies but Saw distresses me a bit. I think it's the whole "you have a choice, deal great pain upon yourself or die" thing. Gives me the creeps.

But maybe I'm just a wuss.

After the 2nd movie they announced they are making 6. So ya i don't know why people are surprised.

1st was a master piece
2nd was meh
3rd was good
4th was shitty
5th looks like saw
6th ?

Fun movies to watch none the less. Oh and whoever thinks the gore in these movies is to much or unsettling, go rent some Korean or Japanese movies.

Well I think you have a misunderstanding here, I am aware that the Saw films (with the exception of the first, IMO. although I do know it is a rip off of Se7en) are complete shit.

And I do like my gore to be used... tastefully?
But I think the point a couple other people were making is that it is disturbing for someone to enjoy mindless gore in a film.
Which I greatly disagree with.
Tell me you haven't watched a shitty ass sci-fi or horror movie with no coherent plot and just tons and tons of tasteless gore, and laughed your ass off with your buddies while drinking a few?

Well, there's movies like Feast which are just heaped with senseless violence. I certainly can enjoy B-movie splatter, even if infrequently. But the appeal to the violence in those films, for me at least, is in how ridiculous it all is. That's different from some overly long scene of a girl getting tortured and cut open for a literal blood bath in, say, Hostel 2.

I'll admit that such films just probably aren't to my taste. But I just don't see the merit to them unless there's some king of catch or tradeoff. Perhaps I wouldn't be so PO'd about them if there wasn't always some pretentious **** around the corner trying to pass it off as "art".

I found that video entertaining, but i guess the trap must have been inescapable.

I completely agree with Absinthe. SAW is shit. F*ck, I'd rather play with shit than watch this movie. The only good thing about it coming out is that we're closer to a Halloween without a SAW movie.

The first SAW was rather enjoyable.

The rest can burn in hell, I'm sick of people PAYING DAMN GOOD MONEY ON THESE ABORTIONS OF CINEMA THEN DISCUSSING THE OMG WHAT A ****ING TWIST OMG IT WAS SO SCARY GOFNMo23;453'

elp12321-=,

Saw this advertisement at the movies other day and all I thought was "Dammit not this again.."
I really can't see how watching people getting tortured is enjoyable.

Since someone posted a comment that matches my opinion, I must not post mine since that would be wrong.
Kill joy :<

It's because, while this is just a movie, crappy or not (I like the series myself) somewhere, someone is actually currently doing this to someone else or has done it at some point.

Approx. 16,700 murders were recorded in the USA in 2007. Thats just the ones we knew about.

Yea, these movies suck, except the first, which was only good because it was original, then after that - all shit.

These films don't exactly depict realism.
