Friend just emailed me this.. I'm thinking its an urban myth, kinda like the whole killer in the backseat thing

16 y.o. girl (the daughter of a friend) is on a train heading towards frankston at around 10:30 pm. Being so late the train was virtually empty, but the carriage she was on had a couple of derro's on it so she decided that at the next stop she would get on another carriage that just had 3 girls on it. Whilst she's on the carriage one of the girls started staring at her, and it started to bug her but after a little while she stopped worrying about it. Then the next stop a ticket inspector gets on the train and asks the girl for her ticket, he says to her "I am sorry but this ticket has not been validated so you are going to have to get off at the next stop and validate it." Being that late and already freaked out she looks at her ticket and sees that it HAS been validated and pleads with the inspector telling him she DEFINITELY validated the ticket. He tells her he's sorry but she'll have to get off. So at the next stop she gets off, and as she steps onto the platform she notices a whole heap of police lined up waiting for the train. It turns out that two of the girls on her carriage (the outer two, they were sitting in a line) had strangled the middle girl to death and were propping her up to look like she was alive, however it had all been caught on train video surviellance. And the ticket inspector was trying to get her off the train so the police could arrest the girls and for her own safety.

Sounds like an urban myth.

could be.. But I'm thinking its a myth, I've not heard about it, and it has the daughter of a friend, friend of a friend, some random person from a school thing with it. And like the other urban myth, guy in the backseat and someone tries to get the girl to stop so she can be taken to safety, or the one where a girl and her boyfriend go out one night, he vanishes and then she hears a lot of banging on the roof, police turn up and she's told to walk away from her car and not look back and she does and see's a madman with her boyfriends decapitated head banging it on the roof.

Just seems like one to me.. still cool though. Dunno where it is but I'm sure there's one for any town in the world heh.

Sounds sketchy, very hard to believe.
Strange things do happen from time to time though, so it could well be true.

I've heard about it before, a long time ago. Not sure where though.

I dont really know and I dont really care :| Urban myths/stories are fun to read/tell but they are just that : stories.

What!?! How is it a cool story? Cool in the way dead baby jokes are cool!?

I gusss technically it could be true...but it just seems too..urban myth-ish.

Thats near my house.

No shit it is... i even have an I love frankston tee...

Dont know if its true though... freakeir things have happened in frankston.

If it was true you'd have heard about it for sure then right? in the local papers n such? I thought it was in America (person who sent me it is in America.. one of those annoying emails she keeps sending out to everyone on her contact list.. grrr hehe)

Edit: ahh you edited.. ok nvm then lol

eek. i hope thats orange juice in my pants.

but anyway, thats freaky, whats a derro btw? a bum or sumit?

If it was suposed to have happend recently i would have heard about it... could be ages old though...

You dont wanna be at frankston station at night... or at any time really but the story does make sence... security cameras on the train, validated tickets and train attendents and what not... so the story's location makes sence (ie the location wasnt changed around which tends to happen with these stories).

I was like whoh when i read frankston tho :p.

Frankston is in Melbourne Australia...

big difference between dead baby jokes and an urban myth :)
Both are (sometimes) told for shock value, which is where i got the connection.

I don't know why Frankston is such a ****ing hell-hole. It should be a nice quiet coastal town....

As for that story, i would have heard about it on the news or read about it. Murders involving women killing other women are extremely rare and would be plastered all over the news.

I take the Frankston train to uni 4 days a week, and once I overheard this exact story being told, it was the friend of a friend that was on the train. Since it was told very similar to your email either it actually happened recently and I never heard about it in the papers or it's a new urban legend. It does sound like something that would happen at Frankston though... scary to think I could be sitting in the seat someone was strangled in.

I guess its safe to say its a new urban myth then, since so many of you know the place it would have been too weird that none of you had heard about it atall, apart from Mo, who heard it but slightly different. It's a good one though, can imagine how creepy it could be.

I wonder where it originally came from then. Something must have started it, and then the whole chinese whispers with people telling other people, adding new things to it. Wonder how it'll go like in another year.. It'll probably be the dead girl who's head flops to one side and stares right at the other girl scaring her even more or something :)

This is the exact reason people look at me weird when i wear my "I love Frankston" tee

God i love frankston.

hahahhahahaha
