Scott McClellan: White house fed Foxnews propaganda

On the one hand, journalists regularly reprint the claims of government press releases and regularly reproduce, without much acknowledgement, various statements and claims from government organs.

On the other hand, this is something slightly different - the active and blatant co-option of news media by a government for the purposes of propaganda. It is what happens all the time, unofficially, but to see it happening officially is still sickening.

What an idiot, he seems to think it was funny.
Yes. He seems to have no problem with what he did, and yet willfully reveals it in public.

No wonder he's the ex-press-secretary.

To be honest he's got more guts than the rest of that administration. He's one of the very first to come forward about the douchebaggery. Though I suppose saying that I have more respect for McClellan than Mr. Cheny, Mr. Wolfowitz or Mr. Rove or isn't saying a whole lot now, is it?

In related breaking news the sky is blue.

well this is more like if the sky was permantly obscured with some giant ....tarp but everyone suspected the sky was actually blue only to have it confirmed by someone who's been to the other side and back

ok that analogy was a little weak but to be fair this is directly from the white house's mouth ...that's a pretty big deal because the government + fox is purposefully feeding the public outright lies for political gain

But every body I would think already knew this. This is the same network that said Bush is one of history's greatest speakers, so you have to excuse me that this didn't come as a shock.

The problem with fox news is that it's news that certain people want to hear. That means it really doesn't matter what happens, they could perform a baby sacrifice live on air and their viewership wouldn't decline much.

I didn't know fox news broadcasts news, I always thought of it as a biased political opinion channel. I might have to tune in sometime and get a balanced out look on current and international affairs.

If you are gaining your political insight from fox, there's something wrong with you in the first place. I usually just like to see how badly my country is going to shit on a daily basis. Then when the political shit comes on, i immediately go to the daily show and the colbert report.

problem is that there's far too many people with something wrong with them:

Fox News leads the cable news market in the United States.

in the wake of the North Korean Missile Crisis and the 2006 Lebanon War, Fox saw a surge in viewership and remained the #1 rated cable news channel.[29][30] Fox still held eight of the ten most-watched nightly cable news shows, with The O'Reilly Factor and Hannity & Colmes coming in first and second places, respectively

For the year 2007, Fox News was the number one rated cable news network.

so you can see how things like the iraq war or gay marriage or abortion or whatever issue of the day is spun by the conservative think tanks behind fox"news"

Wait, so (the rest of) America is quite unlike you guys?

lolololololol
