There is a new post on Team Fortress 2 blog, Robin Walker talks about how boring Scout became that funny little guy who says "Boink!" all the time.

Good to hear they've basically finished the scout update, it must be almost time for release.

Is it just me, or does the Scout in the middle with the 80's outfit and the headset look like the kid from E.T. ?

Cintus Supremus! Zero Charisma!

I always like the version before the final one which I always think about when Valve releases something, then screws it up for playtesters. :hmph: What we got now is some annoying kid from Brooklyn, NY. Anyways he was the guy on the Ant Lion King and many others: http://www.sijun.com/dhabih/portfolio/

Man, I love looking at the early concepts of characters so much. Love 'em. The second picture (in this news post) reminds me of Fry and his brother in the clover episode of Futurama, and the last one reminds me of the kids from Bugsy Malone because of the hair. Cool as.

I love that episode.

The third design is best, it would be interesting to see the whole game finished with this art direction...

DUURRRRRRRRRR

Don't pretend you know anything.
Go ask Melanie if the Scout is from Boston. You don't think I know my state or the states surrounding me after 21 years? *Hey at least they said South Boston. If he was from the North End he would be Italian.

Main difference is that New York'ers sound really fast and annoying like the Scout while Boston'ians sound like rich snobs.

There's a difference between a Boston accent, and a completely overexaggerated Boston accent. The scout's is fine.

Is Melanie from Boston?

No she is not but lives closer to NY than myself. It's like the "Australian" Sniper.

Jeez, TF2 is comedy and parody, they don't need to have voice actors with flawless genuine accent...

The sniper sounds fairly Australian to me. A northeastern city accent with a touch of Boston is far better than a retarded stereotypical accent that plays more to the characters background than personality.

Dhabih threatened us in various ways not to show anyone his Scout concepts, so we told him we wouldn't do that. Luckily, he doesn't read the internet much, preferring to spend his time sipping lattes at locally owned organic vegan coffee shops, so if you don't tell him you've seen the this concept art, we won't.

LMAO! Dhabih Eng is actually on my steam friends list, no joke, and i've to talked to him a lot about Valve. I should so bring this up to him. LOL
