Hi, I have a ASUS P4S800 (with a build in soundcard) and have downloaded all the newest drivers. Now here is my problem:

I have very very good headphones. But when I put them in my computer, I can hear scratching noices (best way to describe it) and I think I can actually hear the computer working, since they increase when the computer is loading stuff or playing games. Now since it's only minor I can't hear it while I play games, but I wonder if there is a way to fix it.

PS: it's plugged in tight.

I have the same problem but mine only happens in BF1942, I think it is because of too much bass but I am not sure.

Sounds like a bug in your soundcard drivers. You can either revert to older sound card drivers, or wait for a new soundcard driver to come out.

If you are feeling particularly bold, check out your northbridge heatsink (or fan). I heard that taking off the northbridge heatsink, cleaning it, and then applying some Artic Silver 5 and reattach the heatsink helps reducing scratching and crackling noise. This is especially true for motherboards that have Soundstorm built-in.

[Edit]: Most likely, it is the fact that you are using onboard audio. ;) Forgot to mention that. hehe

No wonder my old soundstorm didn't have any issues! Asus used a passive heatsink. ;)
hehe
That's funny. A fan causing noise on the headphones.
