Screen captures auto-saving

Alright lads, a question for you!
You know when you hit the screenshot key in a game (Eg - F5 in HL, Or PntScrn in DoW) and it automaticlly saves the image?
Is there any way I can get my computer to do this all the time? So If I take a screen capture I dont need to paste and save it, it just saves the image in a folder.

F5 in HL saved it as an image in a folder, as did it in HL2..(might have been a different key though)

Yeah, but I want to know If I can do this all the time - EG in a post your dektop thread, id hit the key, it would save it to a folder, then id stuck stick the file in.
And obviously, If i can, how I do it
