screen resolution

The games resolution is set to high for my screen to play it. The screen just says that you need to set the resolution lower. Is there a way to do that without actually going to the games options? thanks

I'll be a nice person and reply. No I don't think there is a way.

I'm not 100% sure, but in HL i think you could do start HL with a parameter such as -1024, or -800 which would cause it to run in the approriate resolution.

The same may be true in HL2 (using steam to give the extra parameters).

Right click on Half-Life 2 in the Games list. Click on Properties. Click on Launch Options.

Type in: -w 1024 -h 768 and that will configure it to run in 1024x768 which is the safest one for the game.

If you delete ur cfg file it makes a new one automatically and for some reason it also changes the resolution back to standard.

Wich is here: c:\programs\Steam\SteamApps\your@email\half-life 2\hl2\cfg\config.cfg

or whereever u installed it
