PROBLEM :
When ever I take a screenshots in my HL2 game they come out blank
(black color). Also the Autosave/Quicksave thumnails are either blank
or have diagonal lines in them like an old time TV vertical hold out of
wack. I tryed the console code: jpeg_quality 100, but no good.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION :
I just purchased this computer a few days ago. It's a Gateway Desktop computer.
Beleave it or not, I used to run HL2 on my old P3 800Mhz
computer with 128Meg Ram and ATI Radon Saphyre card. A little lagy but it worked fine.

What type of Radeon Sapphire card was it in your old pc? I would suggest putting that card into your new pc, onboard graphics are not too hot, I could be wrong though not too sure how good that onboard graphics card is.

lol, not really a solution to your problem you posted but that could help and if that sapphire card is any good will be way better having that in your machine rather than running the graphics from the onboard intel one.

I may try that one, but I just got the ATI 9800 card from Ebay. Just wayting to
have it delivered.
:)

I had that problem on pirated version, but not on legal version. Try validating steam files? :)

Good, because the Intel Chipset can't handle the game quite well (as you can see :p)
Odd that I didn't notice that before :|

WAIT WAIT WAIT!!!
You have a pentium, and its a new one... So it must have PCI-express x16 - and as far as i know radeon 9800 xxx only comes in AGP, if I am correct this wont work. But I agree that a new gfx will fix your problem, a x800xl will do the job beautifully and doesnt cost that much.

Oh and welcome to the forums :)

Yeah. I just realised it when I was about to install the card. Goes to show you how behind the times I am. Should have read the specs more carefully.
Oh well, back to Ebay. Or maybe I'll go to my local computer warehouse outlet. Maybe I'll get a good deal on a PCI-express x16 card there.
Thanks for the heads-up. Better late then never.

:D

Are there any x16 cards already on the market? :|

TigerDirect.ca has the PCI Express cards. No x16 from what I can see.
But I am shure they'll be showing up soon enough.
