One of the computers at my school has a weird problem where the screen is tinted red and the only way to fix it is to physically turn the (CRT) monitor to the right about 15 degrees. Does anyone have any idea what could be the cause of it, and why on earth rotating the monitor on it's stand fixes it? Oh and btw it's the same computer that renders purple spots on textures (my friend calls the com's gfx card a 'disco" card because of that :P) and doesn't render flashbangs in CS so you can't get flashed.

Dodgy connection that fixes itself when teh monitor is turned round, try checking the connections in the back of the monitor and also the back of the pc. that is a total guess btw, don't have a clue really.

possessed by the devil obviously and when you turn it a bit you're pointing the monitor in the direction of god.

oh yesh. :)
okay seriously? maybe when u lift it up and turn it to another direction and put it down, u shake the insides a bit and the monitor restores to its original form? the connections idea is a possiblity too.

how old is this monitor? perhaps its just showing signs of going out soon?

very old.

any nearby magnetic interference would also do that, prime suspect being speakers. Disturb the passage of whatever those little things are (electrons, protons, goodness knows) through the cathode ray tube and cause disturbance in picture of varying sorts, often causing discolouration at the corners etc...
