SDK Available to some modders?

The IGN article mentioned that the SDK might be available to some modders at E3. Is there some special list out there that one has to apply for to receive the SDK? Or has it just been offered to the big established HL1 mod teams?

I remembered reading in the US PC Gamer that the SDK would be available some time between the time that the mag was printed and E3, but the above article is starting to worry me...

yes it's been said that not only some mod teams have the SDK,, they also get 1 valve team member at their disposal as a sort of mentor


I'm jealous

although I've been informed that I'm on an "advance list" for getting the SDK ahead of time,, but I'm starting to think they'll skip past the advance list and release it to the public

I'm guessing if any mods do have the SDK and help ahead of time, they might have been sworn to secrecy, can you imagine all the hassle they would get if they let on.

I've also heard Sven co-op has it, and possibly NS. Though Sven did deny it, though if the above is true, they'd have to deny it anyway.

Wow!!! I guess i missed signing up for that list. How do you get added to the list? Was the HL1 SDK released this way?

Hopefully we will hear some more SDK news over the next two days. Preferreably a public SDK release as opposed to a selective release.

The mentor track would be nice. I'm sure that is reserved for promising teams that may help boost HL2 sales though.... <sigh> Someday...

I hope they have some good mods on that list and not the usual cs/ww2 mods.

DoD have it, but they work for Valve, so.. I don't know

Well the PC Gamer mag stated they would have some sort of Mod Convention and release the sdk there early. If they do have that, I will be going!

None the less, I would love to get the sdk early, and have a mentor but if the mentor system isnt in effect or if it wont come to me, thats fine. I will still email them!

Since CS and DoD both work under valve now, they would obviously have the sdk early.

Valve asked for Corporate Anarchys design document. I don't actually think cerbrus sent it off though (Mod leader) unless he has the SDK and didn't tell anyone else... I dought it though.

The "special" modders cant just get the SDK, they have to get the whole game too (Like they said, read the SDK thread). I only think the inhouse modders have access to the sdk now, "normal" modders have to wait 'til after the release.
