We have had a real problem with theft in our neighbourhood in the last month. My dads truck has been brorken into and so has the garage. Last night some ****ing idiot stole my dads golf clubs. I figured this is the last straw. What I have decided to do it set up a webcam in the garage or facing the door and windows of the garage to catch these guys in action. And I would just run the wire down to the computer and leave it on at nights. But then i realized that theres no way to record the videofeed. You just have to watch it as it happens. Does anyone have an idea to fix this. And i dont think webcams have 100ft cables so I need to ovecome this problem. Is it possible to send it through the router and then to the computer or something like that. Because theres no way in hell im leaving my computer in there. Besides what sense would that make. They would just steal the computer to and i wouldnt have the video. Ive seen it done on Bob villas home again so this guy could log onto his website and view live videofeed from his house when he was on vacation. Any help would be appreaciated.

Worst idea ever.....if there is break in, get a gun.

Or a motion-sensing light or an alarm would be more practical. You're looking for software I guess.. Google it. I don't see how the webcam is going to help though. Are you going to get one for the truck too? And the kitchen?

Good luck.

to steal your stuff before you get your webcam up :)
