sempron 3100+ or athlon 64 2800+???

im gona upgrade various bits and peices for my computer. im looking at either a sempron 3100+ chip or a athlon 64 2800+. they both will take the same motherboard and ram so iwas wondering which chip i should go for. obviously the 3100 is faster then 2800 but i havent found any clear benchmarks of how much better a 64 chip would be(if at all) i think the 64 bit has a bigger cache and FSB etc which might make it faster than a sempron 3100 but im not sure. im just wodnering if anyone could tell me why i should go for one over the other. bear in mind that if i wanted to get the 64 chip it would only cost five pounds more!

i would go for 2800, i also had to make the same decision a week ago and spent days looking up everything on the net(also to decide on g cardetc) it fatser at games and you can also install winxp64 on it if ure that way inclined or linux as the sempron has no 64bit instruction set.

shows a good comparison in doom3 but it is only a small diff in them

usually 5-10% faster
