I'm going to get a Creative Soundblaster X-Fi XtremeMusic.
I also need a pair of decent Headphones, my choice has come down between
Medusa 5.1 ProGamer SL-8793 and SennHeiser PC160 Headset SK Gaming.
Now I'm leaning towards the medusa, since it has gotten tons of great reviews, it comes with a carrying bag, and an amplifier which you can jack in to your soundcard slot, and afterwards you can jack your speakers and headet in it and listen at them at the same time, which is very handy.
But then again sennheiser is sennheiser, and I really do not need the 5.1 surroundsound of the medusa, since x-fi can get better surroundsound with stereo, and sennheiser are famouse for the quality of the sound, I'm afraid with the medusa I won't do my soundcard justice. I just do not know.
I have searched the net, and the only compartison, if you can really call it that between the sets I have come across is on toms hardware, plus that comparison was not taken in mind with the x-fi. http://www.tomshardware.com/2005/07/14/headsets_gamers_can_love/page11.html
I will offcourse continue to search further on my own, I am bound to come a cross a good comparison. But there is no harm in asking it here, plus some of you may have better suggestions.
Thnx in advance for any anwsers.
