man ive got a serious problem steam wont let me play Half life and its pissing me off, it come up with a "Steam Error" dialogue box saying that "This game is currently unavailable. Please try again another time."
Any suggestions?

put a dog in a field, shoot it and have a party!

Nah dont do that...tried deleting the game content stuff when you right click the game in the 'my games menu' and redownloading it. Or perhaps reinstall steam'eh?

Restart Steam, restart your computer.

And people, SERIOUSLY, stop posting in the HL2 Forum just because you want more people to look at it. That is AGAINST THE RULES.

There are OTHER SUB-FORUMS WITHIN HL2.NET THAT ARE MEANT FOR YOUR QUESTIONS.

Okay, so this thread was locked, and now it's not. At least move it.

It's a forum with rules.

If the rules were meant to be broken, why do we have mods.

Some of us actually live here...

now to the problem, try deleting all Half-Life game content and delete the .blob file (clientregestry.blob) in the steam folder.

then let the mods do their job. they don't need your help with such trivial problems.

This is why I hate Steam. You've paid good money for a game and now it's suddenly "unnavailable"? I'm pretty sure I've never tried to fire up Call of Duty or UT2004 only to be told it's "unnavailable."
